Camping in a big city!
Great location to camp AND explore San Antonio. Nice campsite. And a porta potty, too. James was easy to reach if there was a question or any kind of issue. That being said , he allowed the utmost in privacy.

Sweet Little Camping Hideaway
What a wonderful GEM of a location near the big city! The property is very well maintained even during the height of the spring growth season! Each campsite has its own charm & significant separation from the other sites. A fire pit is primed for use at each site, when permitted! A true camping experience -- perfect for tent campers, overlanders, van-lifers & those with little trailers in tow! I hauled in a 16' trailer with a long-bed RAM & was able to make Site 3 home! Planning on coming back soon!

A casualty of urban sprawl
We had a great camping experience, but unfortunately I think development has ruined what was probably a once great getaway. The sound of the cars on the highway was prominent the whole stay. During the night, the frequent drag racing prevented a restful sleep.

Site 8 - Lost Woods Campground
Neat wooded preservation so close to SA! Site 8 is awesome if youre camping on the ground! You walk back 50 or so feet to a clearing and feel like your deep in the wilderness. the only thing reminding you you're not is the sound of traffic ha! However, I got switched to site 6 quick and easy by the host as I was using a RTT. Site 6 is Perfect for that! back right up to the site like a stateparks drive up campground.

pretty ranch ruined by development
I bet this place was great 15 years ago. It’s an Old ranch. Some goats are on site. Probably remote in the day but development killed it and it’s super pricey for what you get. Kind of shocked by the “rustic” advertising when you can hear the highway and people drag racing their cars all night long. Did a walk. Seems to be audible in all locations.
Campsite itself was nice. Private. Easy to get into. Nice camp fire area. We had fun at the site. If it was in the middle of nowhere- would have been what we were looking for.
They should also either clean or remove the portajohn. It was piled with used feminine products. Heard multiple women complaining. Pretty gross. We went in the woods.
For the price, would recommend going further out and actually doing some “rustic” camping.
