Our air conditioned adobe casita is ready to welcome you from a full day of hiking. Our cozy, rustic, private casita perfect for two includes Starbucks coffee, tea, and a fridge stocked with fresh water and creamer. Wake up and enjoy coffee in your own private screened in porch and take a beautiful morning hike through the dry Alamito creek just around the bend from your front door. Meditate to sounds of a variety of Big Bend bird species as you sway in your hammock chair. If we aren't in a burn ban, you can pick up some driftwood in the creek and prepare for a perfect night of stargazing steps from your front door. Please note we do not have toilets in the casita, but indoor restrooms and hot showers are available just up the hill, a short hike or drive to our guest house (about 200 yards uphill). A water spigot, hose and basin are available just outside the casita for our guests. Our water comes from an artesian well and has been tested, delicious soft water, great for drinking or just freshening up. We also have a weber grill for outdoor grilling upon request. La Casita Blanca is located close to the main house, guesthouse and outdoor communal kitchen. WiFi is available for all of our guests near the main house, sitting by our swimming hole or near outdoor kitchen area.

If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Estela & Vince were amazing hosts - the definition of hospitality! We contacted Estela through the HipCamp app from the road and she not only gave us a recommendation on where to eat once we got into town, but she contacted them for us to find out how late they would be open that evening. We arrived to the ranch late (after 9:30 pm) and she was still there to greet us with open arms. We stayed up late with Vince as he shared stories of the rich heritage of their ranch, childhood stories, future plans etc.
As the first HipCampers to stay in La Casita, we found it to be quaint, clean and peaceful. Rustic? Absolutely! Remote? You bet! Be sure to pay special attention to their instructions to have a spare tire because the roads can be tough on tires. We got to enjoy the experience changing one of ours - LOL.
Overall, we couldn't have been more pleased with our whole experience! Their beautiful family is one that we would highly recommend anyone visit given the chance. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful place with us Estela & Vince! :)
PS: Come see us in Colorado!
The experience at Los Alamos Ranch was AMAZING. We originally planned on camping there, but ended up booking La Casita instead for two nights during the Labor Day weekend. My significant other and our two doggos traveled from San Antonio for the Marfa City Lights Festival and explore nearby parks. Estela was the best host we’ve ever had and we travel A LOT. The hosts’ are extremely pet friendly and accommodating. Starting with our travel to Los Alamos Ranch, we were a little worried about the gravel road drive you have to take to get to the ranch for the last few miles, but we had plenty of gas from Marfa and our spare tire at the ready in case we got a flat. But thankfully, we shouldn’t have even worried. I drive a Kia Soul with thin ‘city’ tires and it was absolutely fine for the drive, we just drove carefully and slowly on the gravel road. We pulled into the ranch and our wonderful host (plus the wonderful resident doggos) were there to meet us a with a cute welcome bag. She walked us to La Casita and we instantly knew we made the right choice for our trip. It’s the perfect size for two adults and our two doggos. La Casita is right around the corner and down the small incline from the hosts’ house and the guesthouse where the showers are. La Casita has a screened porch area, outdoor lights and tub and private room with A/C and a queen bed. The amenities in the room include a mini fridge, full length mirror hanging on the door, coffee maker, lanterns and lighter, small shelf and table. It’s so cute and comfortable. You can tell the hosts’ spent a lot of time making sure we could want for nothing while we’re in the room. The screened porch has a picnic table and bench along with lanterns and cute décor. The guesthouse is a short walk from La Casita and has towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash (with cute little loofas) for guests’ use. There’s also an outdoor kitchen with ice maker, grills and tables. THE VIEW of the property is breathtaking during sunset, sunrise and any time in between. Big Bend Ranch State Park is a few miles away, pretty much your backyard for the time you’re staying at the ranch. The sky at night is beautiful! I saw the Milky Way without a telescope for the first time in my life, along with some shooting stars! We went to Marfa during the day (which is an awesome little town nearby) and we’d planned on going to the state park too, but we ran out of time! Our hosts’ were so helpful and kind, making sure we had everything we needed and more. Estela was very quick to reply to any questions we had and communicated clearly about everything. We really enjoyed our stay at Los Alamos Ranch and plan to come back when we’re traveling around the area. I would whole heartedly recommend taking a trip out there to get away from the buzz of work and city sounds, we left relaxed and feeling at peace with our time spent in West Texas.
If you are looking for a place to stay near Big Bend State Park or Marfa don't look any further, book your stay at Los Alamos. Stela and Vince make you feel part of their family. La Casita is equipt for a magical night and take advantage to also take a dip in the tub!!! I can not wait til am able to go back. Thank you Stela and Vince for a warm dinner after a long day.
