Pitch your own tent at one of our camp sites on 28 acres in the Texas Hill Country near Wimberley, Texas. Little Haven is an official "Wildlife Preserve" with a focus on song birds, owls, hawks, wild turkey, and deer. Heavily wooded land with varied terrain and three miles of trails. Besides chickens and quail, we also have five goats that are very social. You can hang out with the goats any time you want. They're fun to watch.
We have three official camp sites. They are all very private, and are about 50 yards from your parking space and the bathroom. Site 1 is in a meadow with a big sky view. Site 2 is on a bluff with long views toward the southwest horizon. Site 3 is tucked into the woods with a lot of privacy.
Wimberley is a great destination to get away to. We have something to do year round. When the weather is hot, go swimming in the Blanco River, or visit one of the famous swimming holes on the Cypress Creek...Blue Hole or Jacob's Well. There are several wineries, a rum distillery, and an olive orchard within a few miles of town. The square is a great place to shop, eat, and people watch. Just a few miles down the road is Wimberley Glass Works, where you can watch glass being hand blown.

A perfect piece of heaven in the heart of the hill country. I stayed here over Valentines Day, and the host Clark and his family were so helpful and accommodating! This site gives you the seclusion of camping with the benefit of a fully stocked bathroom/shower that is just for your use. There are over three miles of trails on the property that start right by your campsite (I had a lovely sunset hike right after dinner) and the stars are beautiful! Ten minutes of driving will put you in Wimberley for groceries/unique shopping/restaurants. There's nothing quite like hill country camping - I can't wait to come back.
Little Haven is an incredible place. The owners have built a camper's paradise on their property. It is still under the radar because they haven't had many reviews yet, but this place offers the best camping experience in the greater Austin area. The facilities are fantastic. The sites are private and complete with everything you could possibly need: wood Adirondack chairs and table, cooking utensils and firewood. Guests have access to private bathrooms with showers that are nicer than the bathrooms in my condo. To top it off, they have a rabbit and goats that roam around the property and love interacting with people. I HIGHLY recommend camping at Little Haven.
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property for just a one night getaway-and it was perfect! We had a quiet, secluded spot to set up camp, as well as a great camp site filled with all the necessities (firewood, fire pit, chairs, a picnic table, and some other useful tools in a box). The property itself is great to just walk around ,there are some trails but you can kind of just wander about the property. The bathroom is super nice-that's definitely a major plus. Highly recommend! Lora and Clark are very nice and welcoming people!
Clark and Lora are the kind of people that it doesn't take more than a 5 minute conversation to know they are great people. When we arrived, we felt immediately welcomed. Clark went out of his way to look for us down the road to make sure we didn't have trouble finding the place. Before unloading our stuff we were shown around (bathroom, campsite, etc.) and were told we were free to roam around. One of the highlights of the trip was hanging out with the pair of goats that love being petted. They also have a pair of sweet dogs that will come say hi every once in a while. When it comes to the campsite you really can't ask for more. It has all you need and more. There is a grill great for cooking and having a bonfire, there are some cooking utensils free to use, and a nice sturdy table. We were told we could grab wood from around to use for the fire. We had a very pleasant evening in our private campsite. The following day Clark told us there was no rush for us to leave and that we could stay for as long as we wanted. Which we did for as long as we could before having to go back into town for other commitments. Overall, this is a great place with amazing hosts. I highly recommend and will definitely come back sometime in the future.
A very last minute decision for a camping get-away turned into a perfect find for future visits. Booked my trip Wednesday night for Friday night, they said "sure come on over". A little over an hour out of San Antonio, and I was in another world - a quiet, more peaceful, world than the daily 9-5. And talk about perks. Did you say a "real" bathroom? That and the picnic table and the firepit w/chairs and the storage box thoughtfully stocked with grilling utensils and the soft wood chip tent space and ...... This is not really roughin' it. But it is the great outdoors, complete with leisurely hikes through the trees, sky full of stars, and crickets & frogs to sing you to sleep. Laura & Clark are very friendly, and so are their dogs and 2 cute goats. Very good communication before I even arrived, gave good driving directions for the city girl who would be lost without her smartphone. When I arrived they gave me a quick tour of the place then let me have my quiet time. But whenever they saw me walking around by the house or passed me on the property, they would ask if I needed anything, and come on up to the house if you do. I would definitely recommend this Little Haven (I just hope it doesn't get so popular that it's full up next time I want to go)
Little Haven is a wonderful location to pitch a tent and camp out. Clark and Lora are lovely people, very warm, welcoming and friendly. Clark made sure we got to the location fine with detailed instructions and also provided recommendations for places to see and eat in the town. He walked us around and made us feel comfortable on the well maintained property. We were surprised to receive grilling supplies and firewood that came in handy as the night got cooler. The restroom is "super" compared to public campgrounds you'd find anywhere. It was a big plus to have a neat and clean restroom close to campgrounds.
Our group especially enjoyed the company of the lovely pets at Little Haven. Poppy is a darling and Fennel will show you who's boss around there! The goats are also lovely to interact with. We hiked around, explored the area and came to like everything we saw. Wimberly has always been a special little town and the people make it even more awesome. We highly recommend camping or staying in one of the cabins (still under construction) specially because of the lovely hosts you'll meet.
Thank you Clark, Lora and family for making our camping trip an amazing experience!
Our stay at Little Haven was wonderful! Clark gave us detailed instructions, and Lora met us upon arrival with her two goats and dogs. She was great by showing us around and to our glamp-worthy campsite. This site has it all. Big shade tree, marvelous view, picnic table with shade umbrella, a fire pit/ grill combo(with firewood), and an outdoor trunk with assorted cooking necessities. They even had cedar chips strewn at tent site for added comfort. The sites are a short walk from the main house and exterior bathroom. By the way, that bathroom is as nice as it looks in the picture!
We were also able to park next to the laundry house, so it was a very short walk to camp.
Their dogs Fennel and Poppy are friendly and socialized with ours seamlessly.
The goats are adorable, and you're able to freely interact with them. Also, bring your running shoes. They have a trail that winds through the trees and passes along side new cabins they're adding on the other side of the property. These hosts are FANTASTIC, and I cant recommended this place enough. Stay here and you'll see!
Sumer and I stayed at Little Haven and it was wonderful. It was two of us and a pup. Clark gave us directions and Lora greeted us upon arrival. She showed us around the property and walked us to our campsite.
The site was a perfect secluded location with all the necessities. The site was a short walk away from the main house and bathroom. We parked about 100 feet away from the site, very convenient.
Their dogs were supper friendly. We also had the pleasure of meeting two of neighbors dogs who turned out to be Poppy’s sisters! They came and played with our pup for a bit, which was great.
The goats are adorable!
Our campsite was site #2 and it had a stunning sunset while we enjoyed dinner.
We forgot mugs for coffee and Clark was kind enough to let us borrow some the next morning. Coffee gave us the energy to explore the trail.
Definitely a good last minute decision to stay at Little Haven. Lora & Clark are amazing people!
