Johanson Farm is located at the base of an escarpment with land up on the plateau down into the valley below. Come feel welcome at this peaceful retreat on the western edge of the hill country. Along with the abundance of native wildlife, Johanson Farm is home to a rescue horse, small goat herd, and flock of hard working chickens. Hike to the base of the canyon to find a dramatic cave, and future home of the farm’s amphitheater. The camping space is located close to the barn, with views of the hillside. The 200+ year old irrigation ditch which runs from the west side of town down east of our property still stands, though water only runs when it rains. You can also find remains of the original rock wall built along the hill by the early Spanish settlers. The community is rich with history having a Fort as well as the remains of a Spanish presidio within the county.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Johanson Farm. We set up near the goat barn and we're able to watch and pet the goats through the fence of their pen. Chickens roamed around the property. The best part was our hike up the hill at the back of the property, the view from the top was great. Before we left, we bought some of their coffee that they roast on site. It sure made the car smell good on the way home! And it tasted as good as it smelled.
