Carson Creek Ranch is a 60 acre ranch located on the Colorado River with Carson Creek flowing through the middle of the property. Not what we expected.
Not what we expected but may appeal to others. It was very private yet in the hub of Austin. Not really suited for large Diesel pushers unless prepared to dry camp for room. Expect wide open space (no hook up in open), convenient to down town, not resort like. Small limited sites if need hook ups. Yurt was cute. Not much shade for tent camping. Ideal for a large function, perfect for a family reunion with camping. Lots of space for dry camping for tents, campers RVS....no shade in large open space. No picnic tables, no fire pits available, public shower a bit rustic. We arrived with our 38 ft Class A...but decided it was not what would work for us. Smaller campers, trailers, tents would enjoy the space. There is access to river but not by hook ups. Large Pavilion but not near hookups. Lots of area to dry camp near pavilion.
Beautiful land and friendly host!
An mazing place to stay and so close to town. I love the privacy of not worrying about park rangers coming around getting into people’s business. There is access to water and it’s beautiful.
Planned a camping trip for a group of couples, lots of dogs, an RV, bus, tents and people who really appreciated the yurts as a sleeping option. Joan’s land is beautiful, the yurt beds were super cozy, river access quite lovely, gorgeous horses roaming and classic wooden swings to enjoy hanging from the trees. Joan even cooked our group a delicious paella dinner. Incredible host! Highly recommend.
This is truly a hidden gem! Absolutely gorgeous piece of property. This campsite is just as advertised and will definitely be returning soon! Giant tree swings, water-front access to the river where you can kayak etc, quiet creek if you want to relax and read, yurt options, cabins, pergolas, amazing shade trees, camp-fire options. It was effortless, and we had a blast!! Thank you Joan for sharing your AMAZING ranch with us!
Creek water, swim, fishing!
I'm from Austin, and that area is very new to me, hidden location. Water access is a bit inconvenient, but you can't complain since you are camping! I paid $80 plus $10 for campfire wood. To me, $80 seems too high, and that firewood was all wet and not the real firewood, just chopped up a dead oak tree and store them on the road... shouldn't have charged for it. Other than that, all good! Joan was a nice lady, and her dog "Buddy" was an excellent host!, My kids played with him all day at the water. Because it's so close, I might do it again.
The place don’t have a good access to the river the owner it cruel and have some dogs waking in all place and I think this was my terrible time in all my life I never came to this place
