Beautiful desert camping experience
We really enjoyed our stay at the Arroyo campground at Basecamp Terlingua. The grounds were beautifully designed and peaceful. The scenery was amazing. The bathhouse was clean and well thought out. We would definitely recommend the Arroyo campgrounds to others and will return some day.
The campsite was very nice. The bathrooms and shower area was clean and very well kept. I really liked having electricity at the camp site. I would recommend staying at Basecamp Terlingua
Coffee + hot shower = perfection
Arroyo @ Basecamp Terlingua was an awesome place. I booked a tent site. There’s electricity, running water and a fire pit that’s usable even during fire bans which is a huge plus!! AND THEN there’s the bathrooms and showers...THE best facilities I’ve ever had camping. Actually, the best bathrooms of the entire trip short of my Bucee’s stop on the way out of San Antonio. The entire place was kept clean, coffee room a huge bonus, and the view was awesome. I will definitely be back!
Great way to experience nature
Loved our stay! I love the outdoors and nature but also enjoy certain commodities such as flushing toilets and hot showers. My family wanted to go camping. Since this city girl is not ready for primitive camping, this was a perfect combination, the best of both worlds. Bathrooms/restrooms were always clean, plenty of clean towels and hot showers. Tent sites were in a great location. Loved the coffee room. Would definitely recommend!
I was very impressed with the restrooms and showers. They were very clean, and well kept. There was also a room with a coffee maker, mugs for sale, and space to use electronics. The weather was not ideal. I know that hip camp cannot control the weather, but it was apparently windier than it had been in several years and I thought our tent was going to blow away. The next day we were told they had closed the interstate and they were expecting every stronger winds. They offered to help us secure our tent, but obviously could not guarantee our safety if winds blew up to 120mph like they were predicting. They were going to be onsite, but it still left us in a bit of a predicament. We ended up sleeping in our cars the second night. I would recommend this campsite to others because it is a great location and the upkeep is fantastic, just wish the weather would have cooperated a bit more!
Fabulous campsite. Plenty of space per tent, great bathroom block with lots of hot water and clean towels, delicious coffee for breakfast but best of all are the amazing sunrises and sunsets.
You will love it.
Brand new bathrooms, showers and a little room with Keurig coffee where the perfect perks for this novice camper. Did I mention clean towels? Loved the space. So easy to unload from parking lot. 30-45 minute drive into Big Bend. In the heart of tiny Terlingua.
Nice amenities worth the money
Lovely amenities for a stay near the two Big Bend parks. Nice warm water, towels, coffee, just nice luxuries to make camping out here a little more comfortable. It costs a little extra but I would certainly recommend it.
