This is not a typical RV park or RV site. This is not a typical camping site. This is a 1/2 acre lott located on the edge of a small town. A primitive site. Please read the full description and look at the pictures to get a good idea of what this site is. This camping site is more for folks traveling I-10 that need a cheap place to camp for the night because it sits on a long stretch of interstate without any options for camping. There is one house to the West, one house to the East and the other houses on the block are all vacant. There is no RV pad or tent pad to setup on, you just park and setup on the grass. It borders two large ranches on the South and East and has an amazing view of the mountains. There is a small grove of tress for shade and water on the property. There is a public county restroom located by the county swimming pool. Contact me for directions to these locations or for anything else needed.
There are no stores or gas stations in this town.
Check in and Check out times are flexible. If you are interested in any local attractions contact me. There is an art studio a mile away. There is a historic fort a few miles away. A shooting range about a mile away. And there are a few GeoCache in the area.
Feel free to park your vehicle or camper anywhere on the grass around the Sheffield Camping sign and trees. If heavy rains are expected you may want to contact me to avoid parking in a low/flood area.

This is a no-frills option on a long stretch of freeway - safe, affordable, quiet and still close enough to the main road to easily get on and off.
Great place to stay in a desolate part of I-10. No amenities, but a nice lawn in a safe small neighborhood.

This was the perfect spot for us!!
We have a truck camper, all we needed was a comfortable place to park and stay the night, this place delivered and more. Huge grassy area, perfect for any sized rig or even just a tent. Was able to get level with no effort. Very well taken care of piece of land. Within the big open grassy area there was a mini grove of trees that we were able to park next to. Quiet and safe looking neighborhood with easy access to the main road. Verizon cell service was great. 10/10 would stay again.
I'm sure it's fine and all, but it looked like a completely abandoned and run-down neighborhood when we arrived, so we chose to keep driving. The owner did point out in the listing that the homes nearby were abandoned. I took the risk and put down the $10 anyway, but ultimately, we didn't feel comfortable staying there, so we kept driving.
We didn't stay, the area leading in looked and felt too sketchy.
We were able to find the yard after dark which was a relief. Glad to find a place to camp along I-10.
Nice stop not far off of I10 if you're out in West Texas. Host was very helpful in answering questions and providing information. He was even cordial enough to show me a new park, nearby that I would not have found otherwise.
