So good I came back a year later. It really is a convenient spot between the parks with lots of availability. I booked 2 nights because I wasn't sure exactly what my plans were and only ended up coming for the 2nd night, which is fine because it's good to have backup plans! Came in right after the store closed and left before they opened in the morning on the way back home. Also, free wifi at the store if you've been cut off from the internet for too long.

Pam was great as was the staff at the store. Sites are private w great views of mountains. Beautiful sunrises & sunsets. Quiet although you can hear occasional road noise from 118. Bare bones dry camping, but that is what we wanted. About 30 min from Big Bend NP. So lots of driving. Must remember that Texas is BIG! And this part of TX is windy and dusty.

Out in the country. Pretty drive to the Big Bend Nat’l Park. The campground is at a great location! Fun to see and pet the friendly donkeys, bull, and two cats. Nice access to the Country Store (good prices for the popsicles/ice cream bars). Pam welcomed us when we arrived and was very kind to us. Would come back again..!

We loved our place. The pavilion was a welcome comfort during the rain. We also made several friends on the porch of the store. The coyotes singing in the night was matched by a beautiful sunset to the west and sunrise to the east.
