We made a reservation online and paid with a credit card for one night. During the reservation process it asked you, according to a picture, to pick your spot. We picked spot number one. We arrived around 1pm and the store, where you’re supposed to check in, was closed, so we pulled into spot #1. It was very cold so we closed up our van and were sitting inside reading, when someone knocked on the side of the van. I said, hold on and was going to open the door, when the host invaded our space by opening it without permission. He then began to tell me I had no right to be in that space, “that’s not the way it works around here”. He was very very rude. I told him we had made reservations by way of hipcamp. He has two systems going on this small property. Hipcamp sites at $10 a night and come in and park from a sign on the road for $3.00. The porta potty was disgusting, with poo so high it was coming out the seat. There was apparently another porta potty but we never found it. The host had us move to a different site. This place is a big draw for climbers, and the host fills up the place every night. Wall to wall vehicles. I think it could be a good place, being so close to a climbing mecca, but it’s dirty and run down. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they don’t mind super super desert funky.
