Gardens Oasis is a great getaway out in the Texas desert. We loved the views from the property and had so much fun hiking around the area exploring. The mountains nearby were stunning! There are amenities like an outdoor shower and a beautiful fire pit available for camper use. Due to the time of year we visited, the evenings got quite cold, but the sun would warm things up to a great enjoyable temperature during the day. If you're looking for a quiet getaway out in the beautiful Texas desert, this site is totally for you.
Cave, canyon, and the night sky
The sky was amazing. With the closest city hours away it was so dark you could see so many stars. The area was incredibly quiet. All we could hear were the coyotes and the occasional cow. There's a cool cave in the mountains on the property. I wish we had broght lights on our hike as there were at least 3 passages I could see from the cave's entrance. We also hiked up the canyon. This was an off camber hike often involving a bit of scrambling up dry waterfalls. Beautifully colored rock all around. Definitely recommend.
This camp site was a private, out of the way place. It was quiet and lovely. We never met the host, which was fine, but not sure why we were given a gate code. The gate just led to a small fenced in area full of junk. We found a nice area to settle for the evening outside the gate. We assumed this was ok, because there was no one to ask. Our site was quiet except for the sound of coyotes near and far. It was a wonderful experience.
My husband and I were moving cross country (in a van towing a uhaul trailer) and wanted to find a quiet safe spot for the night- this site is definitely quiet and safe! Though it should be mentioned that we couldn’t actually pull into the site from the dirt road because the road conditions were too muddy for us to risk taking our van + trailer in. We ended up staying on the dirt road and I don’t think anyone else even drove down that road all night long. It had the best views of stars we’ve ever seen!
Beautiful area with views of the mountains. There are a lot of places to hike and wander. He told me there is Petroglyphs in the property. A lot of interesting rocks if you are into rock hounding. Ted was communicative to my questions. I would be staying again. Only thing that if it’s after a huge rainfall the rain can get quite muddy.
