Nestled in the Texas Hill Country near Utopia, Texas, we invite you to enjoy our secluded ranch. We are conveniently located between Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park. Here you can hike, bike and explore 500 acres of a working family ranch. Enjoy listening to the birds, watching deer, black-buck antelope, hogs and wild turkey. Hunt fossils in the limestone estimated to be 150 million years old. This is a perfect place to unwind, make s’mores around the fire pit, star-gaze, enjoy the fresh country air and escape the stresses of the city. No nearby neighbors, city lights, or traffic. A great swimming hole can be found at Utopia Park only 7 miles away in the town of Utopia. Come enjoy our peaceful cabin, or camp, and find your Utopia.
We have 7 designated camping areas with fire-pits. These are secluded from each other. In the central area, Utopiafest Park, (site 4) we have water, cold showers, picnic table, and two frisbee golf baskets. There is also a stage should you want to put on your own private concert! This is the perfect place to fly a kite, play frisbee, or throw a football or baseball.
Other designated campsites are more secluded and "rustic." You can choose a wooded area or camp by the stock tank. Should you want to find your own spot, you can build your own fire-pit with rocks. There are plenty available!

Either as a midway point on your way to/from Big Bend, or if you're just trying to get outta town, Four Sisters Ranch is a perfect taste of Central Texas. About a 3hr drive from Austin, and just north of the town Utopia, the ranch is 1,200 acres of hills and meadows. And with just three campsites, you’re guaranteed solitude.
The campsites are in a big central meadow, where you can choose between the wide open grass or tuck under a little grove of oak trees. Oh, and the ground is flat and cactus free!
As for amenities, there were picnic tables around a fire pit, well-water spigots and compost toilets. And there is actually a stage used for the annual UtopiaFest, so bring your guitar and have your own private concert! ;)
After a night of stargazing (this is just far enough away from Austin and San Antonio to be truly dark sky), in the morning we woke up and hiked up one of the surrounding small hills, giving us a great view of the meadow. And it was really a perfect cross-section of Texas flora & fauna. Climbing up from the grassy meadow through sotol spires and bright green juniper clumps we saw deer, wild turkeys, boar and a couple of little critters.
There are smaller and larger hills, so you can kinda pick your preference.
After our hike, one of the sisters, Kathy, gave us a tour of the property. Telling us how it’s been in the family for 100 years, showing us where to find fossils in the limestone hills, and treating us to some of her favorite secret spots to enjoy the peace and quite.
Oh, and if you’re looking for a little more comfort, the sisters also have two cabins on the property available for booking! If you have Verizon, expect ZERO cell service within about 20 miles of the ranch. Apparently AT&T gets service out there.
Four Sisters Ranch was really beautiful and we practically had the place to ourselves. Our (well-behaved) dogs were in heaven with the ability to run free. Kat & Butch were very helpful and accommodating. We definitely would like to come back with friends. The only downside is that $70 (plus fees) seems a little pricey for 2 people to camp for 1 night. Other than that, we absolutely enjoyed our time there! This is a great way to enjoy the hill country of Texas.
Nice secluded ranch, beautiful night sky. Didn't meet Kat but she was very helpful over email. Large campsites with rock fire rings and numerous port-o-potties. We didn't walk very far on the property but found some neat fossils by the pond. Worth checking out to avoid the crowds of the nearby state parks, but you do pay a premium for the solitude, as it was priced a bit more than the government funded parks, especially taking into consideration the primitiveness. Would recommend for a stargazer or car camper looking to get away from the city for a night or weekend.
Great place . Very large. Fantastic hosts . Beautiful area. Highly recommend. Unfortunately we had a large group camp close to us. They made alot of noise during all our stay. Young people without manners or a clue. We'll be back to try it again . It wasn't a fault of the ranch. Free firewood too.
Beautiful ranch! Kat was very helpful in showing me around and I was able to find a nice quiet corner of the ranch to pitch my tent. My dog had a great time running around and I enjoyed some beautiful stars while I sat at the fire pit.
Super awesome place to camp out at! Beautiful scenery and Kat was amazing and very helpful. We ended up staying at campsite 4, the one with the UtopiaFest stage since there was supposed to be a big storm the one night we were there. We pitched our tent and was well out of the elements. We didn't get a chance to hike any of the land since we wanted to get back to Austin (3 hour drive) but the lands were beautiful flanked with hills/mountains. I would def come back.
I enjoyed my time at Four Sisters to much I'm hesitant to review it- but the ranch is beautiful, the views of the hill country from our campsite were unbeatable. Kathleen was a kind and hospitable host- she made sure we had directions and knew where we were going, then came and checked on us that evening. Thanks Kathleen for sharing your family's beautiful ranch with us!
We had a great experience camping at Four Sisters Ranch! Big, beautiful, open land with cattle, turkeys, and other wildlife running around. And if you camp there during the heat it's only a short drive to Utopia Park for a nice dip in the Sabina River!
