Frio lives up to its name with refreshing escape from searing August heat. Park your RV in your very own private lot and walk on a short path down to the river. The river is shallow and clear rock bottom with amazing "spa" pools for a perfect cool down. Chris was a wonderful host and we felt taken care of and secluded at the same time. Beautiful stretch of the Frio above stream of the crowds. Thank you Chris for sharing with us!
Chris was a great host, very friendly and welcoming! The river access was perfect for relaxing and lived up to the privacy expectations. The outdoor kitchen was a great amenity! We had the perfect private getaway on the Frio, tourist free :) We will definitely be coming back!

Just got back from a couple great days out on Chris’ property. The drive out there was beautiful especially the last hour. Chris only has one camp at a time so you are guaranteed your own space and privacy. He has a couple grills available a great fire pit, and plenty of space to set up tents or a RV. The private stretch of river is where it’s at though. Its a shallow part of the Frio but perfect for setting up a couple chairs and a few spots that are deep enough to hang in. It feels a lot like being on the green belt in Austin but much bigger and more privacy. We could not have had a better time. Definitely bring your river shoes and do some exploring. Couple things to remember is there is no cell service at least for us (sprint). Also there is not a lot of shade, plenty of trees but you will most likely need a pop up for shade if it’s hot out and you are tent camping. It’s a beautiful part of the hill country and I will certainly be back!

I kinda dont want to review this so i can keep it secret lol .
The property is perfect for an easy camp . And we Accessed it in a 30ft motorhome at 10pm . So directions and communication were great . The spot is right on a beautiful creek .
We only stopped for a sleep after a long drive but well be back with the tents and the kids again if Chris will have us ! Great water hole for small kids and parents that party a little less now lol
Beautiful spot away from it all. Chris came over and said hi upon arrival and was very welcoming. The outdoor kitchen and grill set up was dreamy and it was an easy walk down to one of the most secluded and kid-friendly parts of the river. A few points to note that affected us- it got quite windy the first night and blew our pop up camper around a bit, so stake everything down, and internet and service was non existent for us- not even in town. I think he has a plan to bring WiFi to the site, but definitely plan for none and download directions beforehand. The whole stay was memorable.
This spot is on par with anything you would find in a state park, yet, you have it all to yourself. Direct access to the river within feet of your camping area, awesome views of the remote hill country, and excellent privacy. For us, the best part was the night sky. On a clear night, you can see the milky way with your naked eye.
Magical place! If you’re looking for camping off the grid on the Frio River then look no further- this is the place to be. You have access to an outdoor sink, a grill and a smoker as well as a couple of water hoses. Plan for no electricity, toilet/shower or phone service and recommend arriving during the day. Lucky to have had 4 days here. Chris is a kind host.
