There are several tent and RV sites. Take your choice of near the pond, or on in fields. Dedicated Full Bathroom facilities available at main house. Frequent bonfires and you can see the Milky Way galaxy every night. Free firewood - but you must pick it up or cut it yourself.  We do have some pre-cut logs available for a small fee.

We have a paddle boat, and if you want you can even swim in the pond if you are adventurous enough. Fishing OK - but no guarantees on what you'll catch (license required)!

Depending on weather, we do get burn bans from time to time - during those periods open fires are severely restricted - check with us and we'll let you know.  Worst case, you will need to use a covered fire pit.

Hike anywhere you want on our 40 acres, or mountain bike on the back roads.  Follow the fence line or walk behind the not-so-little animals.

We are a working farm.  So if you want to learn some off grid skills, you can learn from experts.  Topics range from Butchering to Welding.  We don't do everything everyday, so if there is something specific you are interested in, please ask when - and keep in mind that our schedules can change based upon weather and other factors!

Potable water is available from spigots located in various places.  Electric outlets are also available in many locations.

WI-FI is available over the entire property at no additional charge!

Meals are available at the farmhouse 3 times a day (twice a day on Sundays) for an additional fee.

Rate is for primitive sites (include water and bath use); RV parking and hookups additional (check with us as to availability).

Loved it here! Everyone was very welcoming and they let us see what it was like to live in a working ranch. We would eat breakfast as the herd was eating grass outside our trailer. It was exactly what we needed to unplug for the weekend.

If you’re into primitive camping, this place is amazing! It isn’t the best do RV camping, because they’ve not developed that part of their ranch as much, however, they took my RV and made my stay wonderful. It was safe (even for my toddlers) clean and the hosts were more than welcoming. I can’t wait to stay with them again and see how their working ranch has developed.

Drachenbau Farm is such a nice place to stay. I’d really recommend anyone going there, meet Walter and his family and enjoy the beautiful and quiet surroundings. The people on the farm are super friendly and if you want they show you many interesting things about the farm, and let you swim in the swimming pool. Great experience. Really nice animals, and large property. True Texas experience!
