62 acres of Texas ranch land. Cows wandering around nearby, and a drink tank on the property. Other wildlife includes quail, coyotes, javelinas, mule deer and more! We are setting aside funds for an ecological restoration project, and want the land to be useful in the meantime so we have put it on Hipcamp!

It's a short hike to the stunning views from the top of the hill, and ammonite fossils at the crest of the hill are just sticking right out of the ground! Can you find them?

This was a super private, very rustic experience. The site was open and beautiful desert. We didn’t see a single person for miles. We loved it. Just a warning, once you leave the highway, you will travel a long way on a pretty rugged dirt road. But if you like the desert, the stars and privacy, this place is great!

We loved camping out here at Desenrascanco Camp! This campsite is super secluded in the desert, and we saw a lot of cool animals ( like jackrabbits, cicadas, and little desert lizards) along with a gorgeous sunset. We were tent camping, so we drove along mockingbird road and pulled off into a side road and pitched our tent on the dirt road. There’s no service out here, so get your maps app loaded earlier. Otherwise, the written instructions were great too.

A wonderful spot to camp. Miles of desert road offered great hiking. Very quiet and private place.

Fantastic remote experience! Beautiful foot hills, especially when the desert is in bloom in Spring time! Great opportunity to see stars. Check GPS coordinates as little to no mobile service once you get the site.

We were a bit nervous being 16 miles down a dirt road (40 mph down the road was easily attainable so don't let the dirt road scare you off), but there were RVs and mobile homes scattered about. We saw another couple hip camping too.

It was such a beautiful landscape, quiet and relaxing; best sleep on our trip so far. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for offering this gem. 😁

If you are a wanderer and love open roads and more stars than you can imagine, then this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I were absolutely blown away by this adventure of a campsite, from the long dirt road to the silence of the desert. For the brave of heart! ( 4 wheel drive recommended, those rocks on the 12 mile dirt road will get ya!)
