Our tree nursery is in its infancy. We specialize in raising pecan trees. It will take about 5-7 years before our larger pecan trees produce nuts. On the northside of the farm house is a 80 year old native pecan tree. We also dream of having some cows, chickens and other critters over time. This land has been a hug blessing to us and we hope you will enjoy your stay here.

“Sandy Ridge” is what makes HipCamp so enjoyable. The host, Cody, was very prompt and helpful in his communication. Cody and his wife, Ingrid, gave us a warm welcome as soon as we arrived then proceeded to show us the property.
Camp Site #1 is a great spot that overlooks the pond, but we chose Site #2 which is an isolated clearing in the woods. Our day mostly consisted of lounging in the shade and going for a walk around the large property, which is a beautiful Pecan Farm. At night, we cooked dinner over the fire, played guitar, and sang songs.
The property is far away from any major roads so you can feel the quiet peace of country life. The stars were bright, the moon was full, and I slept like a baby.
The hosts were hospitable, and I will definitely be staying here again. Thanks, Cody for having us!
We stayed at Site #2 in a cozy clearing surrounded by trees that provided all the amenities of the gorgeous weather, but provided relief from the wind. The trails are scenic in such a way that you can easily forget the humdrum of everyday life and completely immerse yourself in nature. The pond was a short trail hike away for fishing or just admiring the colors of the trees reflecting off the sun into the water. The restroom and potable water facilities were better than anticipated - always kept clean and available for easy use. Cody and his family were wonderful hosts, always available to answer any questions or show us around. This is definitely a hidden gem in East Texas!
I highly recommend staying at Sandy Ridge! Cody and Ingrid were so nice and the place was beautiful! We were having trouble finding firewood where we are from because of the season so I asked Cody if he knew where I could get some nearby? It turns out they allow you to gather your own (no trees were harmed) or he will sell you some. This was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I and our two labs! We had never taken them camping so we didn't know how they would do, especially if we had been in a crowded campsite. We camped near the pond up on the hill and it was beautiful! Our dogs enjoyed swimming in the pond and walking along the trails in the wooded area!
We have stayed here twice. In the clearing and by the pond. The hosts are very accommodating. When we arrived last weekend, the grass was a bit long, we came back from being out on Saturday and found that they mowed it. Beautiful property. Even a canoe for the pond. Take bug spray for ticks.
