The vibe at River Life Texas Camping
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Last weekend my husband and I stayed at Camp River Life to get one last trip in before the school year started, and we couldn't have made a better choice! Luis' property is only an hour outside of Houston and includes private access to the Trinity River. Our hot Texas weekend was chilled by easy access to the water. From our campsite it was an easy and quick one minute hike down to a small beach with enough space to set up chairs and a picnic.
Our campsite was risen and looked over the river, making for a wonderful sun rise in the morning. To get to the site you have to hike out from Luis' house, this is a simple 1-2 minute walk. There was plenty of cleared space to set up our tent, as well as trees for hammocks, and space for cooking. Luis' also provided camp chairs, a foldable table, drinking water, and plenty of light for the evening. There is also an outdoor shower Luis made from bamboo, and a camping toilet.
Parking and the drive leading to Luis' property was super easy as the property is in a river neighborhood, however we still felt secluded and away from any noise. And there was so much nature to enjoy!
We will definitely be going back to visit Camp River Life, and have already recommended to friends. Luis was a fantastic host, gave us great recommendations, and has set up a beautiful camp spot! Be sure to use Luis' surf board and cross the river to the beach on the other side to collect petrified rocks, and visit Lake Livingston State Park for a short hiking trial.
