THEY DID NOT EXPECT US TO COME. I do not know what happened but they did not expect us. We had a booking number and confirmation. We called and messaged and did not receive a reply. Getting later in the night, the directions took us to the wrong location. We were suppose go through the driveway with signa that read “Keep Out” & “No Trespassing” with gun signs adjacent. Once they finally pick up at 9pm, we entered the premises and met the “husband of the host?” He was nice with good etiquete and showed us around and gave us the freedom to pitch our tent anyway. However, the lawn (outside of the driveway area) was consistently over knee high. He continue to walk us around and asked “do you all mind sleeping on poison ivy?” We thought “WHAT?! Oh wait it was a joke. Umm... wait why is he still offering sleeping on poison ivy. Umm ... Ok let’s just get out of this grass immediately.” So we pitched a tent on the concrete and left ASAP in the morning. Seems like good people and the land has potential if they knew we were coming.

We DIDNT expect them to come... at 10PM. Regardless, I was happy to get out of bed and unlock the gate when they called to announce their arrival. We informed the campers that we had a LOT of rain previous to their arrival and they claimed to be “prepared” but I was confident the sub-compact car they were driving would not have made it to the rustic campsite they had reserved. Without hesitation I upgraded them to the RV area with power and water at no additional charge which has a wooded area adjacent. In an effort to keep them in a “rustic” area, we explored the wooded area for a tent site but discovered there was some potential poison ivy which I immediately advised against making contact with. We offered the campers the RV site concrete pad and they graciously accepted. I offered any assistance or amenities that they could need and they seemed to be quite content. We have the reputation of always going above and beyond for our campers. I was quite surprised to see their stay was less than exceptional.
