This property sits right on the Medina river, it is au natural, and beautiful. We have 3 tent sites on this level, and they all share a central fire pit & grill, so be prepared to socialize, or just rent all 3 spots! We do have a bathhouse with a flush toilet up the hill, it is a bit of a hike, but, it is nothing a person in decent shape can’t manage. If you can't make the trek or have small children I suggest bringing your own potty for use at night.

If you like to fish, float, swim, or kayak you will love this spot!

We only allow 1 vehicle per site, so please if you have more than 1 car it needs to be parked up top. This is to cut down on wear and tear on our grass as well as courtesy to our cabin guests and other campers. Actually if you want to unpack then park up topside if you are going to be coming and going a lot that would be much appreciated!!

We do have hosts who live on the property. Lyn and I live in Corpus Christi and try to get up there every 4-6 weeks so sometimes we are around and we do love to meet our guests in person!

Whartons Dock area is indeed eclectic! But don't despair while you are getting to us......once you are here you will forget the drive in! :). Most of the road in is paved and rough, but the last 0.3 miles is gravel and is not much rougher than the pavement, be aware though that it gets really slick when it rains and so please drive accordingly!

Once you are here you hopefully will not want to leave, but if you do go, you must take in Bandera, the cowboy bar, TJs at the old forge is a great eatery, Mullberry’s wine bar also has really good food, and they have coffee as well as some Texas beer! If you like to hike I recommend taking the short drive to the Hill country state natural area.....they boast 40 miles of trails! If you are into horses there is a bunch of dude ranches out that way as well!

This was a fantastic stay. The co-host were wonderful, helpful and super nice. The camp site was nice and had a spot to get in the water near us. We had so much fun and rented kayaks twice on our trip. We will for sure be back for another adventure in the future.

I loved tent camping at Boulderdash. A couple of friends and I reserved two of the three tent sites. A family was at the other. We weren’t really there for ultimate rest and relaxation so the laughter and music coming from the other side of the river didn’t bother us, though we think (and appreciate) that Lyn paddled over Saturday night asking them to turn their music down. All Saturday we played in the river. It’s nice and deep and was the perfect way to keep cool during a Central Texas Heat Wave in the middle of August. Lyn and Carol-Anne have two sweet dogs who had fun playing in the water. There is a boat ramp if you have canoe/kayaks and other lightweight boats. Lyn built a super cute bathroom out of an old horse trailer so there is a flushing toilet, shower, and running water. Our neighbors at site 1 joined us around the shared fire ring on Saturday night for s’mores. I totally recommend this site for a weekend of recreation and fun!
