This is a roughing it spot! Primitive camping at its best! It's perfect for a tent, It is waterfront and perfect for enjoying the river for a week or a weekend.

This property sits right on the Medina river, it is au natural, and beautiful. We have 3 tent sites on this level, and they all share a central fire pit & grill, so be prepared to socialize, or just rent all 3 spots! We do have a bathhouse with a flush toilet up the hill, it is a bit of a hike, but, it is nothing a person in decent shape can’t manage. If you can't make the trek or have small children I suggest bringing your own potty for use at night.

If you like to fish, float, swim, or kayak you will love this spot!

We only allow 1 vehicle per site, so please if you have more than 1 car it needs to be parked up top. This is to cut down on wear and tear on our grass as well as courtesy to our cabin guests and other campers. Actually if you want to unpack then park up topside if you are going to be coming and going alot that would be much appreciated!!

We do have hosts who live on the property. Lyn and I live in Corpus Christi and try to get up there every 4-6 weeks so sometimes we are around and we do love to meet our guests in person!

We had a great weekend at this spot! We had private river access and it was nice and quiet. We’ll absolutely be back in the future!

This is the perfect place is you are looking for access to the river, and don't mind a lot of other things going on. The bathroom trailer is a really nice touch and something you don't often find in camping. If you are looking for privacy and seclusion, this is not the place to stay.

Thanks Shawn, we understand there is alot going on, the Medina is definitely busy in the summertime, and we have had a few people unhappy with all the boat traffic this year, but we hope you will return in the off season, as it is a much different atmosphere once all the vacationers go home!

This is a great little spot out in the Hill Country. Our party of 6 reserved all three of the riverside sites, which gave us a large area to spread out. The three sites aren't very well marked from one another, so three unrelated parties using these sites would probably need to learn to be friendly. The lines between sites would blur very quickly.
There are enough flat areas to be able to pitch tents level, and there are enough trees at the proper distance to hang hammocks for about 5, although they are mostly all clustered together and probably part of a single site.

The river access is great. We brought a canoe with a small motor and enjoyed getting out on the water. We brought some tubes to relax in as well. We used the canoe to pull the tubes up river a few hundred yards to a cliff face and enjoyed the shade it casted.

The bathhouse up the hill was a great thing to have. The girls really enjoyed being able to shower on a daily basis. We brought a portable toilet for near the campsite, but we mostly just went uphill and used the bathhouse.

The neighbors across the river were loud, but it didn't really bother me, and the hosts warned us before we came out. Bring earplugs for at night if music bothers you.

Several in our party mentioned to me that they would love to visit again, and I think we will. I would want to rent all three sites again to ensure we had plenty of space.

As a side note, we went in to Bandera to float the Medina river. We used Medina River Company for a shuttle. The river was pretty low so the float was slow and we had to walk a couple of times. The entrance and exit we used were only a couple of minute drive apart. If you have your own tubes, I'm not sure it was worth using the shuttle. It was still a great experience and the river had plenty of shade.

We had a wonderful time at a beautiful place. The birds soaring over the water in the early morning were stunning!! Many great memories were made around the campfire. We rented all 3 sites for a multi family trip and had plenty of space for our kiddos and pups to run around. The camp hosts were kind and helpful.

On a side note: The neighbors across the way were a little loud in the evenings, but they didn't wake the kids and eventually quited down so no harm done. It won't deter me from coming back!

UGH!! The Neighbours again!!! I am so sorry, and I am glad you guys had fun despite the noisy people across the way! Last time Lyn and I were up he actually paddled across the river and asked them to turn the music down (they did)! Thankfully they are generally only there some weekends. We hope to see you again!
