Site #5 (Boondocking Space)is our primitive camp site, It is back from the cliff behind our workampers site #4, so the view isn't quite as lovely as our other tent orRV sites, but there is plenty of trees and shade, and you can enjoy the views from the top observation deck or hang out by the river on thethe bulkhead below! This site also gets the best views of our local deer!

Okay if you’re in the Texas Hill Country and planning on camping any where other than Boulderdash... my question is why? The campsites may not have bathrooms, but they are shaded and beautiful with a fire ring and picnic table - and there is a killer hill top view from your site.
The real attraction though is the Medina River. It’s covered in white rocks and varies from ankle deep to too deep to touch the bottom in front of Boulderdash and just a couple of hundred yards up stream. We saw beautiful perch and bass, and could see our feet everywhere we went because the water was clear and beautiful. There were places to jump off rocks, kayak, wade, or just sun bathe on the rock beach.
Perfect place to spend a weekend. It’s not just a home base so that you can go explore somewhere else - it is the place to explore. Best campsite I’ve found in the area so far! Plus, the hosts are super precious and kind, we felt so welcomed by them! I saw a previous review about dogs barking, so I brought a small bluetooth speaker and was not bothered by the dogs at all!
