Description

Don’t bother staying here if you want plush camping more akin to your apartment than the wilderness. Chorro Vista is a backcountry site with an amenity list that begins and ends with picnic tables. This site will reward you for roughing it, though, with great sunsets and sunrises to view, canyons to explore, and springs to imbibe (after treating your water, of course). This site also offers up a larger variety of flora and fauna than most areas of the park and is less busy, meaning that that wide variety of wildlife is less likely to have been scared away. Fans of vistas, exploration, and wildlife, this one’s for you. Guy who complains about the choice to camp rather than stay in a Marriott, not so much.
