Two-night minimum stay required. No dogs allowed inside tents.

Maximum group size - 4. Two people on bed- room for two more in sleeping bags with or without twin pads or air mattresses. We don't provide pads or air mattresses.

Quiet hours at the camp are midnight until sunrise. There are ruins on the campsite from the old mining community- please don't touch them or camp inside them.

The Terlingua Ghost Town is a magical, historic destination. 7.5 miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park and convenient to Big Bend State Park. Terlingua Las Ruinas campsites are just a quick walk to the Starlight Cafe, The Boathouse, La Posada Milagro (breakfast, lunch and coffee), and shopping.

Terlingua falls within the "dark sky" area- there's no light pollution, so the stars are indeed "big and bright." Sorry, no outdoor solar or battery light bulbs, strings, etc. are allowed outside the tent areas.

You'll have access to your tent, convenient parking, 2 bathrooms and the shower. There's lots of hiking opportunities and Terlingua is a popular cycling site.

Be sure and bring towels, flip-flops and toiletry items.

Betsy and I will be available for you. We want you to have a great time.

Originally founded as a quicksilver mining community, Terlingua has a rich history. There are still many "Ruinas" (ruins) from the mining days, including several at Terlingua Las Ruinas.

Terlingua hosts several music festivals and has a year-round live music scene that is original and amazing. Home to several noted songwriters including Butch Hancock, it's also a favorite destination for touring singer-songwriters and bands from all over the country.

Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, Boquillas, Mexico, and many other destinations are an easy drive.

Bicyclists and Bikers enjoy the curving roads through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world- River Road (12 miles West) makes everybody's top-10 list.

There is no public transportation here. There is one gas station. Of course, once you're at Terlingua Las Ruinas, you can walk to most of the fun.

Terlingua has a vibrant night life, and you'll be able to enjoy it conveniently- all the live music, bars and restaurants are within 1/10th of a mile from the site. At night, you may hear laughter and music.

Spent one night in this beautiful and spacious Sibley Tent. I wish I could have stayed a month. Awesome small town with a vibrant music scene, friendly people, beautiful and playful dog (not strays, with loving owners), and an incredible landscape. The tent was great and the facilities exceeded expectations - clean and kitschy bathrooms and hot showers. Can't wait to get back here.

We loved it! We stayed for two nights. The bed is super comfortable. The location can't be beat being right in the ruins of the old town. I didn't see any snakes or scorpions, just some cute bunny rabbits! The bathrooms and shower were nice and easy to get to, I would certainly go back.

This campsite was an absolute dream! Really cool surroundings and really well kept. We arrived at night and Betsy left the lantern on for us and checked in via email to make sure we found it okay! The bathrooms on the site were surprisingly nice! Everything was super cute and very well maintained. The drive from Austin was hefty, but it was totally worth it when you look up and see the beautiful stars! We went in the summer so it was pretty damn hot, but it cooled down at night to a really lovely temperature. The site is super close to big bend and there's plenty to explore in the ghost town. I would definitely recommend. Only suggestion is to bring lots of water.

Also, the bed was amazingly comfortable and the tent has flaps you can open and just leave the screen so you can wake up to the beautiful sunset!

We didn't use the fire pit but there is one! 5 bagillion stars :)

This was a perfect segue into our Big Bend trip! We stopped off in Terlingua for a few days before backcountry camping in the park and it was absolutely magical. The tents are beautiful (though I recommend ear-plugs as they can be loud if it is windy out), the showers and bathrooms are clean and refreshing, and it's on a gorgeous piece of land with lots to explore.

This site was perfect for a mother-daughter escape to west Texas. Betsy was a great host. She sent us detailed directions and a helpful packing list before we arrived and met us on site to show us to our tent. She even gave us tips on Big Bend and the few restaurants located in Terlingua. Terlingua Ghost Town was a perfect basecamp for our Big Bend trip - two restaurants within walking distance, a gas station down the street, and the park entrance only a 15 minute drive away. A cold beer and live music at the Starlight Theater were a much needed escape from the heat of the late afternoon, and the campsite looking out over the Chisos mountains gave us a front row seat for a gorgeous sunset. It was also a perfect spot for stargazing at night, and just writing this review makes me want to go back.
