Great experience, wonderful hosts
We had a fabulous time camping at Becky's! Becky and her family were wonderful hosts. The river was just a short walk from our camp site and we were able to swim, fish and kayak at our leisure. There is a lot of dirt around the campsite area so next time we will bring something for the ants but we will definitely be going back!
We had a wonderful time on the Brazos! The sites are new and well maintained. We are a big rig coming in at 44’ length and 13’ height and were able to fit comfortably into the Redbird site. If you are a big one like us I would recommend coming in during daytime hours. There is a pecan tree you’ll need to maneuver around. We came in at night and Beckys son was waiting to help guide us in. They were both wonderful and so helpful with every question we had. The river was fun and secluded with lots of fishing opportunities. There are 4 sites total I believe and a small cabin on the rivers edge. We never felt crowded and was a nice respite from the usual large crowd RV parks that we normally frequent. If you’re looking for a getaway in the countryside with a great river and even better host this is the place for you. Thank you to the Sparks family for a wonderful weekend. We hope to see you again soon!
Great, kid friendly place!
Beautiful site, right on the river. Becky was wonderful! The property was beautifully maintained. Easy weekend with our babies. Bring your bathing suit! I highly recommend!
Pretty close to perfect...
If you're looking for a beautiful secluded place to social distance, this is your spot. I almost didn't want to write a review because I don't want to share it :-). The owners are awesome and shared some of their watermelon crop with us and the few other people staying. The river was perfect, shallow area for the smaller kiddos and deeper area for the adventurous older kids and grown ups. We were in camping spot 1 and I definitely feel like that was the prime spot, we had a huge tree for shade and it was just a quick walk down the little hill to the river. The dogs had a great time and everyone picked up after themselves. Everyone was respectful of space and aware of where their pets were. It was pretty close to perfect for our family and what we were looking for.
Beautiful site on the brazos
Great spot—quiet and shady. Easy access to the river from site 1, even for our two year old. River shallow this time of year for more than half of river’s width, allowing easy splashing and wading for little ones. Water well over everyone’s head past midpoint. Owner had a dog at their house (200 feet away) but he kept to the house, which allowed us to let our dog run around. Freedom for dogs, river access, and a shady campsite are the highlights for us!
Be advised that site 1 is closest to river and also has excellent shade. Site 2 is REALLY close to site 1 since there’s one electrical mast for sites 1-2, and one mast for sites 3-4 (3 and 4 are also close to each other). No one was in site 2 so privacy was excellent. Your mileage may vary if someone is in the site right next to you.
Campsite is level and cleared, and mosquitoes weren’t bad at all. Campsite is mostly dust, so I’m the rain it’d be a mud pit. Be nice if the whole site was gravel for rainy weather. No rain on our stay so dust was fine!
There’s also an Airbnb cabin within 100 feet of Site 1. They are mostly blocked from view by grape vines and far enough away you don’t notice them if the cabin is occupied. Two different groups stayed while we we’re there. One was loud and briefly had radio obnoxiously loud. Second group was a considerate couple who you’d never know was there.
