Picturesque and unique retreat
Cherry Hill Farm was just the experience my fiance and I were needing. Near Center Hill Lake and Edgar Evins State Park, there is much to do in the area. We arrived just prior to sunset and Carl met us and gave us a ride in his truck to where he thought the best site for us would be, which is the very last shack that has the exquisite view in all the photos, site 6. Site 6 has a bbq grill and picnic bench too. Many of the other shack sites had fire pit grills with them too I noticed. There is also a flush toilet near the shacks and a short walk away is a blue building that has an outdoor, yet private shower and restroom area, where you can also get water if need be. This area also has other camping sites with electricity hook ups. Firewood is provided and there is plenty of kindling to forage. Although Carl pointed out that the best spot was site 6, we were unable to stay there since our old camper van couldn't get down the gravel path to it, so we stayed at site 1 instead and just went to site 6 to take in the views when we wanted. Really any site at this place is a treat. I think that had we been even in my little Scion, we'd have been able to make it to site 6, so I wouldn't say that others really need to worry about if they'd be able to make it or not; our old van just has trouble from time to time. We were the only campers that weekend and it being October, the empty shacks, quiet and darkness set a perfect mood for ghost stories around the campfire and also much singing. Carl came and quickly checked on us on our second day, which was really nice without being intrusive at all. This is a beautiful and peaceful place, great for reflection, relaxation and fun. This is a great place for writing and my fiance and I were able to finally finish a song we'd been working on for over a year, so we certainly have fond memories of this place and hope to make many more in future visits. This was a great place to get away for he and I but I also think this would be a fun retreat for a group of people to rent out the shacks; maybe one day we'll be able to make that happen. Thanks again Carl!
Rustic, close to nature n easy acce
Carl is an awesome host! Make sure to walk up to thw view at the end of the sheds. Be ready to scope out your site depending on your needs. Beautiful views and great location to area recreational activities. The Saturday night jam was worth twice the cost of the campsite. I will be back at this campsite soon!
