We are currently offering the bus as a safe place to socially isolate in a relaxing environment. During this time, we will be requiring a two night minimum stay. To prioritize everyone's health during this pandemic, we are taking the following precautions:

•After each guest, we completely sanitize all surfaces, kitchen utensils, handles, knobs, and linens in the bus.

Rancho de Barnes is a small art farm + homestead situated just 20 minutes outside of Nashville. This country getaway is close to town, while still feeling like a complete escape from bustling society.

Our Bus is a fully converted '86 Bluebird School Bus with a van welded to the top. We called it home for a year and a half and now offer up the opportunity to share the magic of this tiny abode.

We've created an intentional space, with beautiful natural light setting the tone for the whole experience. The wood interior is complete with cedar wood floors, ample seating, folk art, and a Tiny Wood Stove. You can see chickens, various gardens, and La Hacienda - our nostalgically painted home, from the bus. There is a bed lofted in the top, making it the perfect stay for two people. The main level also has a bench that could sleep an additional camper.

There is a propane stove, cooking supplies, a solar powered 12v chest style fridge, and a utility sink with running water, making meals from camp a breeze. We also have an outdoor propane stove and small portable grill that is available upon request.

While still maintaining a minimal camping experience, The Bus is hooked up to full electric. There is A/C to cool you off on those summer days or to plug in a space heater in the winter months, and an outlet to charge any necessities.

The Bus has running water at the utility sink that is hooked into the property's main line for all of your cooking and cleaning needs. There is a composting toilet inside The Bus, with a beautiful outdoor shower equipped with hot water, behind The Bus.

When reserving accommodations between October and March, please keep in mind that evening temperatures may fall below 32 degrees. When temperatures drop below freezing, the utility sink and the outdoor shower will freeze, meaning you will not have access to those amenities.

The area surrounding The Bus is yours to explore. Build a fire and plug in the overhead patio lights for a beautiful nighttime experience. Take advantage of plenty of seating, a hammock, and wiffle ball field.

The bus, the animals and the property were amazing. But the hosts were the best (besides maybe the two big pups who I’m now forever in love with, along with the baby goats!!!) - they were attentive and also kept a good distance which allowed me to spend two solid weeks working uninterrupted on a book. Was amazing.

PS - the bus is rad! The pictures don’t lie.

A stylish, easygoing, and unique place to stay! The van is well appointed and a lovely space to spend time. Not far from everything Nashville but an escape nonetheless. Absolutely so fun! There are so many furry and feathered friends to meet at Rancho de Barnes. Baby goats, puppy dogs and Cornish hens everywhere! Part petting zoo-part summer camp. It was really hot when we stayed and the AC kept us cool. The van has a tiny wood burning stove that would make for a cozy fall evening or sit around the campfire under the stars.

This was our first trip to Tennessee and feel so lucky to have been able to stay on Gabi & Jacob's Rancho! You can tell they have actually lived in this space because it is so comfortable, clean, and impeccably designed. We were very sad to leave but since we had the best visit, we hope to return again in the future. Also their Nashville recommendations gave us the greatest foundation to visit the city for the first time.

The Bus at Rancho de Barnes is an absolute gem. My husband and I and our two sons (10, 8), had such a great time at this charming spot! They have goats, chickens and a wiffle ball field, which kept us very entertained outside...and then there's the bus! Lovingly updated and built out with all the creature comforts you need, adorned with funky folk art and plants, the bus was a total delight -- as are the hosts. We loved it and you will too!

This stay combined our hope of glamping with the unique experience of a tiny home!! We were inspired by the lifestyle that the bus and the mini-farm encompassed. Our advice? Stay on sight and enjoy the slow pace! We’ve been to Nashville several times and enjoyed this opportunity to relax instead of going into the city. We left rejuvenated! We were also so thankful that Gabi and Jacob were kind enough to keep their dogs leashed or penned so that our dog could enjoy being tethered outside the bus. Very accommodating.
