There is a lot to like about this RV site--especially the views. This site is literally on the river with sunrise over one end of the river and sunset over the other. We were there in the Fall with the leaves changing color making it even more magical. They had a canoe available for a little paddling up the river and lots of places to relax and play. It is not the easiest site to park your RV, but it is well worth the effort. We went there in a 31-foot class A, and with help from the host, we got parked just fine and loved our stay. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. There was a minor booking error so that we did not get the site we were expecting, but it didn't matter--all the sites have amazing views and I was happy to stay in any of them.

Also, we ended up running a little low on bottled water and the host volunteered to go to the store to get us more (or any other provisions we needed). They also made a fire for us each night so we could roast s'mores. I felt they were sincerely willing to do whatever they could to make our stay pleasant. We were traveling with out kids (ages 2 and 4) and they also had a great time. This site is fairly new and I know improvements are being made, so I can only imagine that it will get even better and better as time goes on. If in the area, I would definitely want to stay here again and I imagine it will become a place difficult to book as more people learn about it and experience it.

We loved our camping weekend by the River. The site was a little tricky but we were guided in well. The host checked on us often and was super nice. My only complain it that there were two resident off leash dogs (who were super nice and cute) but we had to deal with and avoid dog poo.

Laura and Delon are some of the coolest hosts we've had the pleasure to hang out with on our trip so far!

This HipCamp is located just outside of Chattanooga directly on the Tennessee River. This was our first time in Tennessee, and I was amazed at how beautiful this area is. We drove down an epic (but very winding) scenic drive along the Ocoee river (Hwy 64) to get to Chattanooga.

After getting off the highway, Delon met us so we could follow him to the camp. The campsite is easy to find, but the road is a small and windy country road with pretty fast local traffic, so having an escort driving us through the first time was really nice and very helpful. But after you drive through it once it becomes much easier. The site is located on a slope directly between the road and the river, and the spots are distributed through the site. There are some rocks between the road and the site for some privacy and separation. (see photos). The site is very well maintained, had a nice covered parking spot for our toad car, and full hook-up. Grills and hang out spot located right on the riverbank at the bottom of the camp.

The real magic was once we got to know Delon and Laura and shared a few beers with them.

They loaned us a Kayak and drove us upstream so we could paddle/float down the Tennessee river (it was very serene and calm this time of year, no rapids or whitewater - see photos). They also showed us a nearby (2 minute drive) local/secret nature spot with a gorge, steam, and waterfalls that was spectacular (see photos). We even found ourselves in a tight spot and they came through and gave us a much needed ride!
