11/10 stay! So glad we booked this place. Pretty close to the smokies and right outside of a wonderful little town with a lot of rafting. Kimber was a joy and even let us meet her animals! Also having access to a shower and kitchen was insane haha.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Rescue Zoo. The location is right around the corner to the National Park. It was very easy to drive in, hike for the day, and within 10 mins be back at our campsite for the evening.

I loved the host, Kimber! She was kind and accomadating. The animals were friendly and the property was easy to navigate! It was a little less private than I was expecting but a privacy fence betwern us and the neighbors would be a quick fix.

We were using this site as a basecamp before and after backpacking trip. Kimber was accommodating about storing our 'base camp' stuff for a small fee. We had a pick up with a tonneau cover that could be cut or had our base camp stuff showing in backseat. It was just an added peace of mind that our base stuff wouldn't be stolen while on the trail.

Rain was expected during our stay. Kimber was very flexible and helped us maneuver our camper in her driveway so we wouldn’t be water-logged in her pasture. We had a wonderful stay despite the rainy forecast. We made it to Cades Cove to see the beautiful leaves changing colors. We had a large black bear cross the road in front of our truck. So many beautiful sights all around us!

I had an amazing time at the rescue zoo! Kimber was a wonderful host and very accommodating. The two campsites were well maintained and very comfortable. Kimber even left us some free firewood. The sites were a couple of minutes from a convenient store and only about 15 to 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge.
I enjoyed camping where there are rescue animals. A donkey, a horse and one of the cats walked right up to me. All the animals were very friendly. My only regret is not meeting and having my picture taken with the Lynx!

The bathroom appeared to be older and was modestly furnished but it was very clean and perfectly acceptable for a camping experience. Especially considering the bargain price for the campsite! Even a heater was available to warm the restroom. Some hooks on the wall for towels/clothes and maybe a bench or a table would make the restroom accommodations even better!
All in all this was the perfect place to camp. I would definitely recommend a stay at the rescue zoo. Perfect for children, pets and anyone who loves animals and the great outdoors! And absolutely the best price in town!

This donkey also walked up and said hello.Rescue Zoo campingSweet horse walked up to say hello.Rescue Zoo camping

Jason.... thank you so much for the great review.... I am redoing the bathroom this winter and it will be way better when you come back... Thanks for the advice on a chair and hooks.... great idea... I don't know why i never thought of that... Thank you again for being a respectful camper.... we hope to see you again one day.

The stay was great, much better than staying at a crowded campground. Host was friendly and showed us around for a bit and then let us be. I would stay here again.
