Harpeth Pass got its name from an old road that ran through the property, once used by area residents as a short-cut from Peytonsville to the Harpeth community that sits south of the ridge. As this area was famous for its colorful moonshiners, the pass was also used as a route for bootleggers to avoid the local sheriff and his deputies while transporting their goods to local customers. Legend has it that a cache of civil war era weapons was found in a hollowed Oak tree just off the pass, most likely hidden there by confederate soldiers who settled in the nearby area known as Little Texas after the war.

Camping at Harpeth Pass
Our family spent this past weekend trying out our new camper at Harpeth Pass and cannot say enough good things about this place and Denise. We camped at the water's edge, spent the afternoons hiking, fishing and just hanging out. The property is close to anything you'd like to go and do but you probably won't want to leave. Denise was very helpful in answering questions and welcomed us to explore as we wished. We were the only ones camping this weekend but the sites are far enough apart and blocked by trees that you won't see other campers unless you wish to visit. Great memories made for our family including our son's first fish. Get out, go and enjoy your time there.

Camping at Harpeth Pass
My family and I had a blast! The owners are AMAZING, when we first arrived we were greeted with nothing but kindness, led to our camp site and also had contact throughout our trip with them both. When we ran to the store for snacks (which in conveniently 10 mins away) we left our dog tied up at the site because he had decided to take a bath in the pond. While we were at the store I received a text stating he had gotten loose and that they were trying to round him up. When we got back they had him happily in their truck bed. I even had to make a 1 &1/2 hr drive back to our house and back to the campsite for some very important medicine and while I was gone they checked on my family numerous times which I am beyond grateful for! We definitely will be making this a new regular family trip!

Harpeth Pass is magical! Denise + Jeremy were very friendly and great hosts. Their property has ponds, hiking trails, wildflowers, and several different camping spots. I would love to come back when the leaves change. I would highly recommend camping here.

Camping at Harpeth Pass
we LOVED this place. amazing sanctuary close to Franklin but feels more remote than many parks we've camped in. the lake was a great spot to camp and to fish from. the boys loved staying here and overlanding across the property in well manicured trails. we can't wait to come back in the fall!!!
