Friends and I moved to this place in 2017 from Southern California. We got tired of the rat race, the crowded freeways and the wildfires. We wanted a bigger, natural space, a more free way of life and we were in desperate need of water!! Our vision is to turn this few acres into a community, a place where our friends can come to retreat, relax, eat, get healthy, have fun and feel welcomed. Looking to make new friends to have fun and get a few acres of land ready for gardening and living spaces! A small fruit orchard was planted with medicinal plants and herbs and is constantly added to every growing season. We provide fresh eggs and herbs for breakfast (seasonal) and firewood for your campfire! Learn more about this land: Feeling Adventurous? Come, camp and enjoy the beautiful, natural environment Gizzard Creek Farm has to offer! We love this property because there are so many animals and plants that are found no where else in the world but here on the Cumberland Plateau. This gorgeous space is backed up against tens of thousands of acres of forest and the South Cumberland State Park is practically in our backyard.. And it’s wild out here! There are bears, mountain lions, deer, fox, owls and turkey that live here, and there are NO FENCES! Camp at your own risk! Foster Falls State Park is 3mi south and accessible on highway 41 or by hiking south from the property. Lots of outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, biking, boating, paddle boarding, whitewater rafting, skydiving, hang gliding, and motorcycle riding are all in the area. Chattanooga is 30 minutes away, Nashville is 1.5 hours. This area is rich in history! Union troops marched toward Confederate troops nearby during the Civil War. We offer firewood at your campsite, composting toilets, hot showers and WiFi. Digital Nomads Welcome! No vehicle access and it is located across Gizzard Creek, over the Troll bridge, Site 2 is for adventurers who don't mind a small hike to your camping spot and who want privacy. This site is accessed by foot only. The possibility of bear and mountain lion sightings, this site is backed up to tens of thousands of acres of wilderness! There is a small platform for a tent to keep you off the ground, plenty of firewood for your campfire and the sound of birds in the forest. Enter at your own risk!

Gizzard Creek Farm
This was such a great spot!!! Nicole was a lovely host. She brought eggs and herbs in the morning. She has done a lot of development with the land and has vision and is making it happen. So peaceful.

Would absolutely camp here again! Nicole is an amazing host and even provided fresh eggs and herbs from the garden for breakfast. Communication was helpful/efficient/easy. Campsite #2 was perfect for our small group (4). Do not miss Foster Falls! Wish we could’ve stayed longer to try the hike down directly from the property. Our stay exceeded expectations and hopefully we’ll make it back someday!

Not again.
Double check this location if you intend to take a camper trailer or RV. Campsite #2 is tent only. I don’t know about campsite #1. No way a 45’ anything would fit down the drive I had to back down. Speaking of #2, the “composting toilet” is a 5 gallon bucket in a tent.

Easy to find, quick access to Foster Falls, accommodating and hospitable! Great camping, climber friendly. Walt provided us with fresh eggs in the morning which cooked super well in coals from the nights fire. Recommend to others and plan to return.

Peaceful, Adventurous, Beautiful..
After several weeks of traveling due to the stuff of family life. We decided to break up the last leg of our trip by camping. Gizzard Creek Farm was our first experience with Hip Camp. I must say we are total fans. We love the idea of private property, teaching our kids to respect that, and not having to share our camp site with lots of others. When we arrived we accidentally entered a neighbor’s yard. Thankfully they directed us to the right place! Gizzard Creek was on the left side of the road. The site of our camping was newly cleared. Thankfully we brought our clippers and took care of the last few small stumps. We have a large footprint with a four person tent, and two smaller ones. Once setup we enjoyed a fire in the brick fire ring, Nicole is in process of switching to metal fire rings. We were able to comfortably fit three tents, once larger, and two smaller at our campsite. Nicole and Walt supplied ample firewood in fact we left some for the next campers! You’re welcome! ;) After our breakfast, Nicole let out ducks and chickens, and she showed us around her beautiful garden. I might have a lot of garden envy now! ;) I hope to go back and see her orchard plans in full swing. We generously received in season farm fresh duck and chicken eggs, freshly cut herbs from the garden, and enjoy a second breakfast. Thank you Nicole. After breakfast and second breakfast we enjoyed exploring nearby Foster Falls. The kids were so excited to swim under a waterfall for the first time. Back at Gizzard Creek Farm there is a awesome bridge to cross the creek, and watch cray fish, and play Pooh sticks. We asked the family what their vote was on camping here again and it was a unanimous YES!

Gizzard Creek Farm
Awesome site-great hostess!
Must start with this was a perfect campsite! We love having some private space so we can enjoy our night and not bother others or have to call it a night at 10pm. and this place was AWESOME! We felt safe and had plenty of room for tents, dog, campfire, and hammocks. The hostess provided wood, there was a fire pit, and a wooden large platform for your tent and other items so you were off the ground; even though no picnic table-the wooden platform was perfect for coolers and anything else u needed. Nicole was super super sweet-she gave us freshly laid eggs plus herbs and veggies from her garden for breakfast (even though we had to take them to go since we had a long drive back home). It's beyond nice having a shower, esp. after a few days of camping and music--(we went to the annual bluegrass Festival in Chattanooga (their 13th yr!) -which I recommend for sure for all groups of people and we plan on going back!) [I have to add just for others-this was a first for me to use a compost toliet but it's really the same as a porta-potty-minus the 500 others sharing it!] Great reasonable price and great location for hiking as well as for visiting Chatanooga! I will def be back and appreciate the hostess, her property, and clearly how hard she works very much! We appreciate the true kindness from her and the GREAT site she shared with us and like I said we will be back!! :)
