It is as close to wilderness as you can get without being in the wilderness.
We provide water to put out your fire with and some filtered spring water from the property in jugs to drink.
There is a fire ring and some benches and enough flat space for a couple tents and a vehicle.
Bring a saw, a bow saw works great. The firewood is what you can harvest and there is plenty of that.

Amazing View ! Pet friendly! Primitive camping!
Be at one with Nature in a truly natural environment.
This is a beautiful easily accessed secluded primitive spot high up on the small mountain on 45 acres of Appalachian forest land. The road up is about a half mile of gravel road that is in good enough condition for the clearance of most cars if you have questions about it please ask!
****If road conditions are wet, the driveway to the campsite might be too slick for most cars or two wheel drive trucks. Parking in that case is st the bottom of the driveway with a 100 foot walk up to the campsite.
*The spot is actually a flat house site without a house, making it a wonderful place for a campsite on the south face of Dixon Mountain.
*We provide a drum of water for fire, a fire ring and fresh filtered spring water from the spring on the land for drinking
*We are pet friendly and implore you to be responsible with your pets. Even though they aren't visible, there are neighbors, keep them with you at the campsite-not roaming the neighborhood.
*Trash- pack it in, pack it out.Â
*Bathroom-This is a primitive site. There is a shovel provided for cat holes, bury it and pack the tp out with the trash.
Total nature, total privacy. You will be far enough from the nearest homestead to feel completely alone on top of the world in nature with a view that's to die for. There are people close enough that if you dropped/lost your phone and broke your leg some one would eventually hear you. The best of both worlds!
It's a great space for solitude and retreat. đź’– Earthstar Village in East Tennessee Mountains.

The host and family are extremely genuine. it was a little hard getting back to the spot as not a lot of the brush was cleared, but it was dog friendly and secluded. there was a nice view but some of the smaller pine saplings blocked a portion of it. If it was opened up a little bit it would be great!

This campsite was super cool , we woke up and could see for miles ! Our dog loved running in the woods near the campsite. We will definitely stay here again !
Ivey was a wonderful host and we had a great experience! The campsite was a simple piece of land and was exactly what we needed. Just make sure your car can go up some dirt roads!
Tucked away in the hills outside of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Ivey's land is a wonderful retreat from the crowded commercial area of the smoky mountains. Ivey met us when we arrived and led us up to the campsite, which is a short (steep!) drive from the main house. The site was secluded w/ a great view of the mountains, plenty of firewood and fresh spring water provided for the two of us. We had a clear sky during our camp, made for great stargazing at night. Nice spot to set up camp and go off to hike and explore the surrounding area. Ivey was a great host, communicative and friendly, felt safe on her land and knew she was available should any emergencies arise.
A couple of notes
- If you come when it's raining or damp, you may not be able to make it up the final stretch of road to the site depending on your vehicle. Be prepared to walk up some supplies, otherwise, it's a car camp, our truck made it up fine on a dry clear afternoon.
- Host provides plenty of water for drinking, washing up, and fire maintenance. Rake and shovel also provided.
- don't forget your bug spray! A no-brainer for camping in the mountains
Legit area with amazing views! Make sure your vehicles can travel up some steep tight turns up hill. Where you can actually park is just right down from the site. Not a bad hike up to it. Did have a black dog travel into our site and get into some food though but not too much ha friendly dog though! Ivey is extremely nice and wonderful and shows you how to get right to the site.

Oh Patrick I just saw this! Was that our dog Marcus? Awwe I'm so sorry. There are bears and raccoons too so do keep food out of reach of four leggeds!
Ivey is awesome, and so is her land! It was exactly what we were looking for; beautiful and secluded.
Our site was up a few hills just make sure your vehicle is in good shape. The site was BEAUTIFUL, MOUNTAINTOP VIEWS!!
Fire pit with benches and plenty of wood.
I loved camping on Ivey's land! Ivey is really sweet and welcoming, and the space was secluded and gorgeous, definitely stay here if you get a chance!
Great place to camp. Ivey was very helpful and friendly.

Trey was super nice, we enjoyed his visit to our mountain top retreat. We're real excited about this years season! We've been clearing the pines and will have it set up for camping in April. It will come with incredible view, places to pitch your tent, fire circle including 100 gallons wash water , few gallons drinking water, out door shower and composting toilet. Can't wait to sleep under the stars on top of the mountain it's gonna be a great summer !!
