Okay, so you have a family now and you're stoked! But the inner “rugged adventurer” of your youth can’t quite submit to the glamping lifestyle. Well, no worries! A middle ground exists in the Cherokee National Forest, and it's called North River Campground. Situated just far enough off the beaten path for your peace of mind, this quiet little campground reveals multiple lakeside camps, stunning vistas, and cozy fire rings perfect for sharing tales with the youngins of how it was in your day. The description is somewhat misleading. North River campground is not located near a lake. It is located beside a lovely stream which is ideal for kids (and adults)! I was there today and everything is in great shape.
