Want a grand view of Tennessee habitat and clear open skies? Then this site option On The Buffalo may be your best bet. You'll nestle up to the edge of the pine forest area and have a view of the pasture/meadow and tree line of the area. The tent site is flat but the land is rolling foothills of Appalachia. In the summer, you'll get a firefly show.

A short walk will get you to the outhouse centrally located (coming in spring 2020). You are invited to hike around the property or even bring your mountain bike where you'll be able to ride about 1.5 to 2 miles meandering through the various terrain here on the buffalo. And don't forget the best aspect - our riverfront on the Buffalo - that features a nice area to wade or swim with a large rock wall as your view. Bring your canoe or kayak and you can set in to one of two spots up the river (5 or 10 min drive) and take out at the camp. A minimal transport fee to go get your vehicle or to be dropped off.

To unload, you drive through the magical pine tree lane down to an area where you can unload. Parking is not available adjacent to any of the campsites to keep this a magical nature space. It's not a far walk and your vehicle will be safe in the parking area. This is a great spot for multiple tents for your group. You can build a fire in this area or head towards the bonfire circle towards the bluff and the road down to the river.

**KAYAK RENTAL OR TRANSPORT SERVICE**Based on availability you may want to rent kayaks for up to 6 people. This includes transport to one of two spots up river. The first is called Texas Bottoms and is about a 3 hr float unless you fish or lollygag. The second. Grinder's Creek is about 10 minute drive and approximately 8 hrs which requires getting out at Texas Bottoms and walking across the street due to the low bridge. (TDOT will be renovating in 2021). $30/person for Texas Bottoms. $40/person for Grinder's Creek.Transport service available for up to 6 people and your own kayaks to drop in OR one person drive back to your vehicle - reservations required. Please ask about additional drop in services farther up river. Max vehicle capacity is 6 people. Can also park and get a ride back to your vehicles. Rate based upon distance and people.
