Fun getaway in the woods.
We booked Camp Nashville Highland Rim for a Saturday night in March. The host, Michael K., popped out to check the water and was nice. As mentioned on the post, your GPS may take you the wrong direction on the final road. Just look for the 500s. Note, the mailbox on the street is missing the middle number so it just read 5*0. It was quick and easy to get to from 65N.
The driveway is EXTREMELY steep! We had good, dry weather, but I had to get a running start to get to the top. If it was wet or muddy, the small gravel road could be a challenge to get to the top.
The listing mentions 12 sites with up to 4 people per site. If there are other people in your area you will be within 40 feet from them and will see and hear them. Realistically, this listing should be two large spots for groups to feel privacy. Luckily, there was only another couple in our area, so it was fine. We stayed on the upper flat top area. The lower camp area could be good too and is out of sight and sound from the upper area. The only note on the lower one is that there is lots of building materials and motors, wheels towards the back of it. This area would be pretty awesome without that.
Firewood was plentiful including a massive downed tree that was nice and dry. Our camp handsaw proved handy.
Cellphone note – I have Verizon and had intermittent signal. My friend has AT&T and had no issue.
We would come back here again…especially if we were sure we could reserve a whole area.
Quiet and peaceful!
Super quiet campsite tucked away off the road on top of a small mountain. We could see the lights over Nashville from our spot and the surrounding area pretty well considering being tucked back in the trees.
Michael was a great host and very friendly. He showed up and helped us get a fire going offered to set up a hot shower for us and explained the layout of the property.
We felt safe staying here and got some much needed rest from being on the highway most of the day.
I felt very fortunate booking this site since we kind of booked it last minute.
To sum it up, we enjoyed staying, it was exactly what I wanted and will swing back through if ever in the area again. Thanks Michael!
We had a great time here! We came with our two young boys and they loved exploring. Close to town so if you need to run and get something it’s close. There were other campers their but enough room you feel like your alone but it feels safe. I would say bring bug spray. I would recommend this place for sure! Micheal answered all the questions I had.
