Site was great, creek was great. Being so close to the creek we did get a little gnat and mosquito activity.
Firewood was low when we got there, Kat brought some over very quickly and we were good for the weekend.
We are hammock campers and were able to get 5 hammocks hung at the site. 6 would have been difficult.
Great little spot
This was great spot for a staycation! The site is pretty much surrounded by a creek on three sides, and the privacy it provides is lovely. The creek isn't really one that you can get it, but its gentle babble was the perfect backdrop for falling asleep. The portapotty was clean and supplied with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Kat made sure we had firewood and answered all of my tedious questions with patience to spare. We had room for three tents and a tailgating tent with plenty of room.
The large ditch the host describes in the listing is legit. You have to drive across to get to the site. I have a Subaru Crosstrek and it slightly scraped as I traversed it as did the other vehicles in our group which were proper SUVs. It's certainly doable, but be prepared, and if you have a hitch, you might take it off! Thanks again for a relaxing weekend!
Check in was easy and the creek made for a peaceful evening. The road to the back sites dips very sharply and most vehicles would bottom out going through. Our Toyota Tacoma has a hitch bike rack and while the truck was fine, the rack scraped and jarred causing one of the bikes to burp the air out of its tire and come off the rack. When leaving we had to leave the rack up and carry the bikes past the dip to avoid issues.
Great escape from city
We stayed in the group site. It was so perfect. A nice canopy of trees. Surrounded on two wide by a babbling brook. If babbling brooks are not your thing you should avoid because this is one babbling brook. There were a couple of make shift benches as well as picnic table, the site is level. if it has rained recently I would bring stray or plastic as the is one area slow to drive. There is a ditch one must cross to get to site that my provide difficulty for your garden variety passenger car. Wonderful spot close to the Urban Wilderness trails with a trailhead just a short bike ride away. I live in Knoxville and this will be a regular get away! Cheers
