This Private Forest Reserve features around 60 hectares of forest, creek, ponds (with an occasional platypus), fern glades plus 20 hectares of open grassland. Over 5 klms of developed walking tracks. Plenty to explore!
Only 1 HipCamp booking/group is accepted. Our Field Centre may be in use as well.
We have set the limit to a maximum of 10 people at a time, but if your group is larger than this please send an enquiry to disuss your needs.
Toilet, undercover wood fired BBQ, table and chairs and abundant wildlife. Pets are not permitted
This property is owned by the Launceston Field Naturalist Club and is named after John Skemp. A "field naturalist" is a person who enjoys exploring and learning from the natural heritage (environment)it's a form of citizen science!. There are about sixty Field Naturalist clubs across Australia. Not all clubs own their own land - we welcome others to enjoy our property. Money raised from campsite fees will go towards future improvements of the property.
