If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The compound was a fun place to stay for the night with our dogs and kid. Our son enjoyed romping with the goats and chickens. Landon and Larissa were among the most friendly people I've ever met and were super helpful and accommodating since it was pouring down rain when we arrived. There is no hot shower water but we did have the opportunity to clean up a little, and look around their impressive off the grid homestead. The fresh eggs in the morning were unbeatable! I'm glad we chose to stay.
Landon and Larrisa were very hospitable and kind. They made us feel right at home. They even started a campfire for us. It was a great place for us to stay. There are plenty of places to pitch your tent. The animals are fun. Our daughter says she loves every one of them! Once they have the outdoor bathroom complete campers will be able to be completely self sufficient. Overall it was a great experience.
Even though we experienced a pretty bad storm the night we stayed at The Compound, Landon and his wife were so nice and accommodating. They even messaged us to make sure we were doing ok and offered up a bedroom inside the house if the storm got too bad. The goats, chickens, and dog were just the icing on the cake. Not to mention the property is beautiful!! We will be back!
It was an absolute delight spending the night at the compound. Despite our rather late arrival Landon and Larissa warmly welcomed us, going so far as to share wine and stories around the fire pit. Waking up to the adorable goats and chickens playing was an added perk. It was a visit filled with wonderful conversation and a chance to experience a fully off grid farm. If we find ourselves out that way again, we will definitely revisit the compound.
Landon and larissa rock!!
Landon and Larissa were so welcoming and sweet! And so were their dogs and goats and chickens. They have an awesome firepit right by the creek that made for an amazing evening relaxing by the fire in peace. The Compound is a great spot for anyone passing through E SD!
Last minute tent camping experience
Wanted to go camping Memorial Day weekend super last minute and decided to try Landon’s place! At the moment he doesn’t have an outhouse but he is working on one. He was gracious enough to let us use the bathroom inside! Very laid back host! We set up our tents and enjoyed the fire pit near the stream so much! Probably even more private and peaceful than a campsite at a busy park.
