The compound was a fun place to stay for the night with our dogs and kid. Our son enjoyed romping with the goats and chickens. Landon and Larissa were among the most friendly people I've ever met and were super helpful and accommodating since it was pouring down rain when we arrived. There is no hot shower water but we did have the opportunity to clean up a little, and look around their impressive off the grid homestead. The fresh eggs in the morning were unbeatable! I'm glad we chose to stay.
It was an absolute delight spending the night at the compound. Despite our rather late arrival Landon and Larissa warmly welcomed us, going so far as to share wine and stories around the fire pit. Waking up to the adorable goats and chickens playing was an added perk. It was a visit filled with wonderful conversation and a chance to experience a fully off grid farm. If we find ourselves out that way again, we will definitely revisit the compound.
Landon and Larrisa were very hospitable and kind. They made us feel right at home. They even started a campfire for us. It was a great place for us to stay. There are plenty of places to pitch your tent. The animals are fun. Our daughter says she loves every one of them! Once they have the outdoor bathroom complete campers will be able to be completely self sufficient. Overall it was a great experience.
Even though we experienced a pretty bad storm the night we stayed at The Compound, Landon and his wife were so nice and accommodating. They even messaged us to make sure we were doing ok and offered up a bedroom inside the house if the storm got too bad. The goats, chickens, and dog were just the icing on the cake. Not to mention the property is beautiful!! We will be back!
