Plenty Star Ranch in the Southern Black Hills is the private homestead of Jack and Isa Kirk and located right along Hwy 385 and the 110 miles long Mickelson Trail from Deadwood to Edgemont. 9.5 miles South of Custer, a popular stopover for bikers and hikers, who either pitch a tent, hook up their RV, sleep in our rustic camping log cabin, close to all the major attractions in the Black Hills, like Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Mountain. On your way to Hot Springs (24 miles South) you will drive through Wind Cave National Park. It is definitely hard to get bored here and the weather is fairly mild, stable and mostly dry from June through September.
Our 1-room log camping cabin and the barn wood furniture in it were built by Jack himself. It has a full bed and a single sleeper couch (sleeps max 3 people), table and chairs as well as electric lights and cove heat and a portable electric heater when needed and/or a fan for cooling in summer.
We provide bedding and towels.
Sorry, no pets.
There is also a little building right next to the cabin with 2 shower rooms for camping solar shower bags during the summer months. We have a few to hand out. During the cooler shoulder seasons cabin guests may use the bathroom/shower in our home during reasonable hours
The toilet room (flush toilet , cold water sink) is added onto the garage and open 24/7 of course, about 50 yards from the cabin.
Check-in time is between 5 pm and 9 pm at our home.
We are open May through September, weather permitting October.
A couple of ponds occupied by our resident Canada Geese border our short and easy accessible black top driveway off Hwy 385, right at Mickelson Trail Markers 34/35. Coming in late you can see a 10' red and white star on our barn.
Sit around our approved camp fire site in the evenings and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on our porch in the morning. You can use our WiFi here as well. The only cell service for a few miles around the ranch is AT%T.
We enjoy to keep our peaceful place clean, as well as smoke and drug free and I hope you appreciate this as much as we do.
While at the ranch, explore Jack's Custom Barn Wood Frames & Furniture shop and my art work and Black Hills Flower Essences products or if you are so inclined, plan in a little time for an intuitive Tarot reading or an Essential Touch healing with her.

Places to see near Plenty Star Ranch
This cabin was amazing. It was cozy and comfortable for 2 adults in separate beds. The property itself was also incredible with horses, a pond and wide open spaces. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
