Come out to the country.  How far out?  Hidden Acres farm in Due West, SC is approximately 100 miles Northwest of North, SC.  Due West is the home of Erskine College.  Hidden Acres has been a small beef cattle farm for at least three generations.  From the driveway, it's an entire mile to the town (two stop signs on the way, and no red lights once you get there)   Visiting the Dollar General store is known locally as  "Going to the Mall".    Drive in beside Chickasaw creek.  Close the pasture gate behind you and be cut off from the world for a while.  The single campsite is all yours, and there is room for multiple tents if you want to bring friends.  You'll be on 90 acres, opposite from my home, about half a mile away.  From the campsite, there's only one electric light visible - over on the neighbor's property.  Pitch your tent and listen to the creek gurgle.  Set a campfire.  Gaze up at the stars and sing - or be silent and watch for deer and turkey.   As they like to say over at Tractor Supply, "It's Better Out Here".

Has mixed feelings towards this listing

Mike is a gracious host. He offered us firewood and water before escorting us through the fields to the site. The barbed wire gate is difficult to open and close. The site is private and comfortable by the small creek that we drove to and parked. There was a cell phone signal which made my daughter happy. There are many fire ant mounds that I found the first night. It is a relaxing spot.
