Come out and camp on a secluded 60 acre farm.  22 acres of pasture surrounded by woods, which backs up to the Savanna Creek.  This can be your base camp for exploring the many interesting attractions in and around the Francis Marion National Forest.  McClellanville, a small fishing village is 30 minutes away.  The Santee River has many access points near by and has some of the greatest fishing ever.  Historic Mepkin Abbey, McConnell's Landing, Hampton Plantation and Strawberry Chapel are close and worth a visit.  If you are looking for some great kayaking, check out berkeleyblueways dot com.   You might get visited by some neighbors dogs in the evening/night, but they have all proven to be friendly.  Plan accordingly if you are bringing any pets.  Right or wrong, this is normal for the country.  There is plenty of wood from fallen trees on the property, so please do not cut or damage live trees.  Trash, take it with you, please be respectful of this beautiful little piece of Gods green earth.

This campsite was great! The field/pasture was lovely and the woods provided some good wind protection (we tent camped in January). He had a pile of firewood for us, and an outhouse stocked with toilet paper! Great spot, good communication from John.

It was a great campsite. Private with nice open field and we were provided some firewood as well.

This place was exactly what we were looking for. It was secluded enough to let our dog run around. Easy to find, directions were perfect. The location is beautiful. At the back of a large pasture. Can camp in the woods or field. John was a wonderful host. Made sure we knew where we were going and had firewood waiting for us. I highly recommend!

Primitive camping with a well kept outhouse. This is a basic camping area, but well maintained and cleared. Host communicated quickly and has a reasonable rate. Camped in the woods, never saw any major pests. Felt safe.

We were a super last-minute booking, which I felt bad about-- but John was so kind, responded really quickly, & even brought us some firewood. The spot was perfect in the woods behind a huge field, with an awesome wide view of the sky. Not to mention a clean outhouse stocked with tp. would definitely recommend!!

We had a great time. There was privacy, firewood, an outhouse. I would recommend the site, but the picture of a kayaker is a bit misleading. The property is not on water. We brought our kayaks but did not use them.

Was not trying to be misleading, but I see how that picture can be, I will remove it. BTW, the Santee River is literally, "just around the corner". Thanks for the comment.

Pretty easy to find entrance even in the dark, easy to follow road back to the camping spot. A better outhouse than any other I've used and not filled with spiders. It's a very nice pasture and in the morning there were deer in the field.

What a great property! I was doing a solo winter gear test and could not ask for a better spot. Plenty of trees with amazing views.
