This beautiful piece of paradise is located on a point in a large cove on Lake Wateree, SC. We are offering a more private camping experience to that of the "public" camp sites on a lake! We can accommodate one RV camper or a one to two tent group. We are open to between 4 and 6 adults. Ted and I live in the house on this property, but would give as much privacy as the campers would want as well as be available to help in any way, and would usually be there to "introduce" guests to all the amenities and give any directions needed on their usage. As it gets a little warmer, the pool will be opened up and can be used by guests after Mid May, 2018. Also, our Mako boat will be in the water, at the dock. If guests would like to take a cruise with me or both of us, an additional charge would be required, to help cover gas, etc. but would be very reasonable. There are several kayaks available for use as well. The granite fire pit is a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the many reflections on the wall, cook out and stay warm. This area is favored by many. We would provide a certain amount of firewood, but additional wood can be purchased at a reasonable price as well! We are starting this as new hosts, so as we learn what our campers need and desire, we will do our best to accommodate them in every way possible. We are working on getting a nice "portable restroom" on site for campers and Ted is going to put in an outside shower by the pool area with hot and cold water. These we hope to have available by July, 2018, and sooner if we are able! We love meeting people from all over the world! I am a retired teacher and Ted is a geologist and originally from the Philippians's and is well traveled. We look forward to hosting friendly guests at our hidden paradise on Lake Wateree.

The vibe at Lake Wateree Wonderland
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This is a gem of a spot, tucked into one of the many folds of shoreline along Lake Wateree. Monica, the host, was welcoming and vivacious and showed us a few different options for parking our 22’ trailer – all pull-through spots in the ample grassy area between their house and the water. Super easy. Monica had an extension cord out for the trailer power supply, so we were able to plug into that and get our batteries topped off. The dog was in heaven, running freely with no one to bother, as most of the neighboring houses are occupied only occasionally as vacation homes.
Our timing wasn’t great with the weather, and we got rained out of using both the fire pit and the inviting-looking pool. Dang it! But, we did squeeze in some kayaking in both the individual boats and the sit-upon tandem kayak. Great fun, and super relaxing to be out on the water. Even saw a great blue heron skimming across the water!
All in all, I'd recommend this spot and would definitely stay here again, if back in the area!
We had a wonderful last getaway before school started. Monica and Ted were amazing. Monica and I were so extremely similar it was ridiculous. I ended up making a new friend for life I hope. They were the most gracious and were there to help with whatever we needed. Otherwise we didn't see them at all. Monica took us on a wonderful boat ride across the gigantic lake (with Yoshi, her dog) Our dog Oreo and Yoshi became friends, though Yoshi is older and did not want to play as much as Oreo. We camped with our "top off" the tent and it was a beautiful starry night. We kayaked to the island and swam around. We had a campfire at "Tedhenge", the amazing granite walled fire pit Ted built. We played charades by the fire. We played cards at the table by the pool.
The potty area was very cute and inside it's own little private tent area. My girls loved the pool and slide (and hooking their music up to the stereo) and spent most of the day in it, as did I. John spent much time fishing and finally did catch one (despite the fact that he is not a great fisherman lol) The cricket sounds at night were very soothing and there was a nice breeze off the lake. Monica even let us use a small fan in the tent which was wonderful. I recommend this to anyone who loves camping as much as we do. You must ask Monica to show you their arrowhead collection. It is awesome. We had a super time here and hope to visit again. Thank you again to wonderful hosts for making this a special getaway for us all.
