Fairmead Farm is a secluded sanctuary on a 200-year old tradition Appalachian farm. We’ve kept aesthetics and the historical appeal as our priority. We think it’s a beau-tee-ful cove. Primitive camping (tents) on a gently rolling hill top or, UNDER CONSTRUCTION, a 20 X 30’ refurbished cabin on stone piers both nestled in diverse stand of mature hardwoods. The trees stand right next to the cabin. Little or no outside distractions. Privacy enhanced by a mountain ridge nearly all the way around the property. Exposed rock boulders on the slopes. Access to public hiking trails on the ridge. On the ridge, you can touch Table Rock Mountain (State Park), Sassafras Mountain, Whiteside Mountain (Cashiers, NC) and beyond. Our farm residence will not intrude upon your camping sites. Cabin with water and electricity. Restroom with running water. You might be able to schedule your bluegrass concert with our family musician. Grocery store in 10 minutes away seems is hard to believe.

The host, Brian, was very kind and accommodating. A small group of us were only there for one short night before a long trail run, but he offered to give us a shuttle ride if needed, and even brought coffee out to us in the morning.
The cabin is still under construction (July '19) but the primitive camp area he provided was excellent. There is water available, and a brand new bath house nearby with (unheated) shower. (cold showers are good for you)
