This property is very close to where I spent most of my childhood. Very close to the township of Gympie made famous in the goldrush days. It's a known fact that Gympie is the town that saved Queensland... The area is steeped in history as the Cob and Co coach also passed through this way .
I moved back to the area and onto this property 2 years ago with the dream of turning it into a rescue sanctuary to save animals that would have their life taken from them in a slaughter house for human consumption. I grew up in a dairy farm so I am very aware of the fate of male dairy calves. I really wanted to have somewhere to show others that these sentient beings are no different to our pet cats and dogs. They want to live.
All proceeds from our camping go directly towards the food and care for our furry and feathered friends.
I became vegan 10 years ago and most of my family is also vegan, right down to my precious great grand children who have a very real love of animals.
As part of my vegan journey, I enjoy caring for all the animals who live here.
Visitors are welcome to help with the feed times. Vegan campfire dinners are available by request. We ask that campers respect the lifestyle here where all animals are treated with kindness.
We are in the early days of a vegan sanctuary here and as we progress more will be added. An animal lovers campsite, great for kids! We are an Animal Sanctuary, caring for rescue farm animals, and we also have an abundance of wildlife. All proceeds from our camping goes directly towards the care of the animals. We have three campsites, all with their own fire-pit and picnic table. Campers need to be self-contained with their own toilet.
At your campsite, relax in the tranquility of the bush, enjoy a wander around the dams or come and introduce yourself to the resident miniature goats, Muscovy ducks, and our Jersey boys. You might hear Leo, greeting the morning light with his cock a doodle doo. We also have Guinea Fowls who are our resident security, they let us know when the Goanna's are lurking!
You'll share the bush with the little swamp wallabies, and maybe a roo or two. And our oldest native resident, Scrappy, the bush turkey has cleared the path to your campsite, vehicle building his nest.
Firewood is provided.
