Bush Camp

Our group was thoroughly impressed with this campsite.
The property itself was immaculately clean and well kept with great facilities. We really loved that there was a boat ramp right there for us to access the water. There was a beautiful walking track through the wetlands, and a jetty to watch the sunset over Baffle Creek. Kenton the host could not have been more helpful, greeting us upon arrival with his dog Jet and going above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. He delivered fire wood to our campsite (for a small fee), provided us with info on the local area, and even gave us some bait to use whilst fishing. I can only say positive things about our experience. We are hoping to come back for another visit in the near future. Thanks for such a great stay :)

Kenton was a great host! Only a little disappointed that we weren’t in the water as the other areas looked amazing but where we were was still great near the dam.

Great place for big groups as you can camp by yourself. Very clean toilet and great undercover area for a camp kitchen. Good fishing and swimming off the jetty and boat ramp, Kenton has his own golf course and is keen for a round if you are.

There are some sandflies that are some of our group but didn’t seem to worry other people so if you get affected by sandflies bring whatever you use to keep that under control.

On a trip to Townsville, we had the bush camp booked but due to an early departure, kenton took us to have a look at the waterfront site. The decision was made immediately that we would take it! The site exceeded all of our expectations and some. The privacy and minimal bookable camp sites, fishing locations (we cought a cod!) and clean amenities make this spot almost too good to tell others about for fear of it being booked out all year! Kenton took the time to tell us some history of the local area, the property they now make available for us all to enjoy, and the work they are putting into improving the property. We even had a visit from Jet the friendly shepherd!
The midgies had a feast on us all so take some heavy duty insect spray if your like me and apparently have tasty skin.
