¡Hola! We are opening up our land for those interested in enjoying a remote yet not far from city spot, at the headwaters of Río Grande de Loíza, in San Salvador, Caguas. Property is less than an hour from San Juan, about an hour from Ponce. We are a queer collective that is little by little, penny by penny, rescuing this land and old cement house that had been abandoned for more than 20 years. We are completely off-grid. Important that we are not a “glamping” spot. Our community is historically agricultural, with beautiful nature spots, views of mountains, a natural waterfall pool, petroglyphs from our Taíno ancestors, a community garden always in need of volunteer hands, and well us! The farm is humid, rains a lot, so we have rainwater for bathing outside and washing. No electricity so come with all your things charged :) We recommend tents that are well protected from rainfall, and its always good to bring a heavy duty tarp for under or over the tent, as well as sleeping bags. Our nonprofit collective is opening our headquarters right next to the farm, and has tents, tarps, and sleeping bags available for rent at a minimum price of you want. If you would like to help us get this house and farm fixed, and also just chill on the mountain, do a bonfire, work with seeds, venture around, hit us up! We are a queer/trans/lgbt safe space and also ask that everyone who comes to stay with us be respectful of that. There is a small rural store that sells machetes, milk, bread, canned stuff, ice, beer, about 5 minutes away walking. Our land is not a good fit for anyone unable to walk on uneven or unpaved ground. We have five cars, a dog, and a horse, all sweet and available for cuddles. We are in and out of the property, so please leave things the same or better than how you find them! Any questions please let us know!
