Finca Hekiti offers a retreat for the local as well as the international traveler.  Our Cacao Forrest Farm is on the border of Añasco and Las Marias in the interior mountains of the island of Puerto Rico, just 30-40 minutes from the coast.  We live in Rincón and work the farm on weekends, allowing for privacy and quiet for our guests.  You can pitch a tent anywhere on our 4 acres of forrest.  On weekends we focus our energies on working in the forrest clearing the fallen trees and branches from Hurricane Maria and planting fine grain grafted cacao trees, as well as soursop (guanabana), citrus varieties, pineapple, plantain, banana, guava and more fruit trees and food producing plants and roots.  On the upper level we also have a container home where we can share vegetarian lunch when coordinated on weekends as we recieve volunteers and learning teams.  A rain catchment system is installed at the container home, as well as a bio composter.  The common bathroom is available to all in the forrest with a composting toilet and shower are under construction as the hurricane took the roof and part of the foundation.  This campground is a 3 minute walk to the main container home and you may be sharing the forrest with other campers.  We don't allow for campfires and expect all belongings be gathered as well as trash before leaving the forrest.

You can birdwatch, meditate, investigate the forrest for plant varieties, drive down the mountain to great surf in Rincon or further interior for rivers, caves, waterfalls, coffee tours and more.  Our farm is rustic and we are still working on developing trail systems, but would be more than happy to have visitors to help us with any of the farm duties.
