Buddy and I had a great night at Dan’s place. It was much closer to the road and houses than I was hoping for, but it was very quiet, with no cars at night. You can hear the stream all night long and have a nice fire. Great spot if you’re looking for a cheap stop on a trip with plenty of room for a couple cars
This was a solid spot, really dug the woodsy area that was perfect for hammocking. Dan was helpful and responsive but I felt like I had privacy. It was a great price, and perfect proximity to amazing hiking (lots of trails within 5-20 minute drive). I would recommend this to folks who like ease and quiet thats hard to find in campgrounds but still want to be near great nature.
Dan was a great host and has a very nice spot for a couple of tents! We really appreciated the use of the fire pit! Where we stayed was a little closer to the road and house than we were expecting, but there are more private spots farther back from the road if you're willing to walk in a bit. Overall, it was a great experience!
Backyard camping at its best!
Marvelous host and lovely property. To reiterate a review that helped me set my expectations appropriately... the host perfectly balances privacy and involvement. The property house is within sight, the host's pups bark to say hello but cease quickly, and the street is within earshot, however there is limited traffic. Excellent fire pit and sounds of nature.
I just needed a spot to pull in, sleep in my van and hit the road the next day. Dan's location was perfect. He was nice: greeting me upon arrival, explaining the layout, and then let me be. The spot was nice: surrounded by trees, plenty of spots for tents, firepit, table, chairs, quiet neighborhood, etc. You are right next to the road and within plan view of Dan's house but the street was quiet and Dan was respectful. Would definitely stay there again.
