The Lodge at Scattergun is a place you want to visit. We just barely crossed over the border from Ohio to Pennsylvania and then travelled south from the edge of Lake Erie 25 minutes to find this gem! Eric and Karen your hosts have been living on this property for nearly twenty years. They have 5 beautiful dogs, mostly Rhodesian Ridgebacks (which Karen breeds) and countless acres which you can explore. They have operated a lodge for many different kinds of bird and game hunting and the property is easily accessible because of this. The evening we were there we explored the back road at sunset and saw four deer and six fox kits!
The property is very well maintained. The lodge is roomy and clean with lots of outdoor porch space to enjoy. We were able to use the kitchen in the lodge for cooking which was a real treat.
They have a future project on the horizon - to allow primitive camping in the cleared areas where skeet shooting used to take place. These parcels are private from each other and will make amazing primitive sites.
In the morning we went for a run across the property as well as on the country roads. You will see authentic Amish carriages out here at all times of day.
We can’t say enough great things about Scattergun! Spend time here if you are anywhere near!

The biggest pond on the property. The lodge was a comfortable place to hang out!The lodge from the outside is so sweet! One of the cool campsites out in the back of the property.
