We loved our stay at Boondock at Sandstone Ledges. Linda was super responsive and Helpful. The road into the sites seemed a bit tight for our 12.5 foot high RV but we got through okay. The site was great - easy to find a level spot for our 31 foot RV - very quite and private - easy to turn around to leave. While Linda provides great instructions for getting to the site, I recommend getting there before dark - I think it could be harder to find your way in the dark. We will definitely stay again.
Definitely recommend this site. Secluded and pretty. Visitors should expect to drive on a back road type path to get to the site. The directions were easy to follow. You just have to watch carefully for the entrance, the signage is subtle (but reads "hipcamp" so you can be sure). I'd visit again for sure.
We loved staying at The Boondocks! Linda’s property was beautiful, private and peaceful. Our dogs loved being off-leash. We loved being off the grid for a few days. Allegheny National Forest is nearby and worth a trip!
This site was great! Very secluded, beautiful property with great hiking! Highly recommend.
I can’t say enough good things about the Boondocks site. Lisa was very attentive and helpful before our stay. Directions were straight forward (look at the pictures in the listing) and there were signs showing each site. The boondocks site was secluded and we only saw other campers when driving past them on the way in. It was a beautiful spot surrounded by trees perfect for our camper van setup, fire (small pit was there), yard games, and star gazing. It does get a little warm during the heat of the day, but we walked down along the trail with some hammocks and posted up next to the river to relax in the cool shade.
Our dogs loved the space even more! They could romp around off leash and splash around the creek.
I would recommend preparing to be out of cell service (we have att and Verizon and it was spotty service). Also bring your Deet, there was no shortage of ticks (to be expected in nature).
We will definitely be back!

Thank you for review and pictures. Very accurate. Drawback of openness and stone surface is heat during the day. Glad you saw how to handle it by cooling down in woods along stream. Also highly suggest floating on rafts or kayaks downstream. 6 miles from town to Moore Road, Summerville.
We enjoyed our stay here. Linda was an excellent host, and when we realized our battery had died overnight (!) she quickly sent over someone to help. We appreciated this very much. One note: the location is accurate if you use apple maps, but slightly off if you use google maps.
Co-hosts Linda and Judy were so accommodating, and the space is amazing! We got in really late and were immediately welcomed. We were taken on a guided hike around the property In the morning that my teenager loved and is still talking about! We’d love to come back someday.

Thank you. Hope you do come back now that you know how to get to the Boondock site.
Linda's site was perfect for me, and I would definitely stay there again! I needed somewhere to camp in my truck, ideally not far off the highway, but also remote enough that I can easily exercise my two active dogs before a full day of driving. Unfortunately I didn't arrive until after dark, and I was worried about finding the spot. Linda was very helpful, but I didn't get many of her messages until later because I didn't have cell service at the site (Google Fi). Fortunately her written directions and signs on location were clear enough for me to find the site on my own in the dark! The site is totally private and peaceful, and a nice big flat area. I have a little 2wd pickup, but the roads are in great shape and I think a normal low-clearance car could use them easily. In the morning, I brought the dogs for a ~2 mile hike on the pink trail, though we didn't do the full loop because I lost the trail at some point. The property is beautiful, and the dogs enjoyed going for a swim in the nearby river.
