The property is absolutely gorgeous, if a bit wild. Met the property owner Chris on the way to the site and he was a great guy. Very friendly and accommodating and made us feel welcome.

Be aware there is a bit of an uphill trek (10 minutes or so with a relatively steep uphill grade) to get to the actual site. We packed to car camp and ended up doing several trips up with gear. Not unmanageable by any stretch, just plan accordingly. Once up at the site the views are stunning. The owner has a trailer up there where he spends some time. Detracted from the views/remoteness a bit but a small complaint for the views/land.

No real hiking or trails on the property but there is lots of options close by. We brought two dogs and we able to keep them off leash the whole time as the site is very remote. It was a great reprieve for the dogs and our family. I would come back for the views alone and because Chris was a sound guy.

Thank you so much for the positive review and we're glad you enjoyed the property! We've updated the listing to make sure it properly reflects the walk to the campsite (which is definitely worth it, given the views!) We hope you'll visit again soon.

Beautiful isolated campsite, perfect if you would like to have your dog off leash, we were the only ones up there :-) really nice view and if you have four-wheel-drive you can carefully drive all the way to the top of the ridge! Will definitely be back this place is so beautiful :-)

Hawkins Hollow was perfect for what I was looking for. It is a beautiful property and a great place to bird/nature watch. I would highly recommend this place to any campers looking for a secluded and scenic location in the vicinity of the area's many attractions.

Great views, peaceful setting. An abundance of butterflies, wildflowers, milkweed (along with monarch butterfly caterpillars!). Hike was a pretty intense workout with the weight of our backpacking packs, but in a good way. It is definitely a solid incline, and a couple times took me a good 20 minutes (we did some day excursions so we went up and down from the csmpsite to our cars several times throughout our stay). Stars were amazing. Misty mornings were very peaceful.
