I enjoyed my stay here so much! Donna and Greg treated me like family, and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. There are a few kinks to be worked out as they're figuring the bathroom situation, how to provide water to their guests, and which sites will work best as camping spots.
I personally loved staying by the creek. You can't imagine how peaceful it is to hear the constant "whoosh" of water running by as you lay in your tent. The clearing area adjacent to the creek will make a perfect spot for hanging out/ cooking once the fire pit is added.
We had a wonderful stay at the Pear Orchard. It was a gorgeous site, right by a river (about 100 ft walk from the car), we felt like we were camping alone in the middle of an enchanted forest!! We didn't get to meet Greg, but he left very clear comprehensive instructions and was great at communicating by text messages. We hope to come back soon. Thank you!
This was my very first experience camping on someone else's farmland that I did know, and it was a really wonderful experience. I will try to return at some point. Helpful hosts, beautiful property. the sound of the rushing stream right next to my tent was nirvana. I wanted to stay in the tent all day long. There is no fire ring as of yet, i know Greg has it in his plans. But there is a really nice cleared out area where i set up the cinder blocks provided and made a nice makeshift pit. There is plenty of firewood provided so you will not need to bring any of your own, you just have to bring it down from the covered structure down the hill and then down to the camp site. Donna gave me a ride down all the way to the clearing in her truck, closely followed by the very sweet Lucky. Both hosts are very nice, and helpful with anything i could think of. Really above and beyond. If you were to cook out, i would recommend stopping to get groceries before or expect a good hour round trip to pick up anything. I ended up hitting up a bar and grill that had a decent chicken parm, and sold six pack to go! Also, there was really good wi-fi, that stretched all the way down to the clearing (not my tentsite) if you're into that thing. I am looking forward to my next adventure on the Pear farm!
We had a group of 18 people for Memorial Day weekend come out to this property and the consensus was that it was a great spot! We fit 8 or so tents across the stream which was beautiful to hang around and frolic in. The kids and 11 month old baby (first camping trip) definitely enjoyed it! We had a lot of space to roam, play games, and just hang out in privacy which is exactly what we were looking for. Greg was very responsive and helped us with whatever we needed. A few things to work out like toilet/showers. We didn’t mind not having those amenities, but perhaps for groups in the future it could be improved. The listing is also a pack out for trash. Greg was gracious enough to take care of our trash. It is in a woodsy area so we were mindful of ticks (which a third of us ended up having). Overall, we left the property with smiles and great memories! Thanks Greg!
